Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2000 Series: A20RB15ASO? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My son is 15 years old, 6'2" 210 lbs. and growing, and is primarily a pitcher and 3rd baseman. This 12" model looks ideal for him coming after the A1000 it will replace. Is it? Should it be bigger than 12" as he is going to be huge? And why is this A2000 $100 less than the others in the A2000 series? Mark
Based on the positions your son primarily plays, we would suggest looking into an 11.75 inch pattern Wilson glove. The Wilson A2000 Series: A20RB15ASO is a 12.00 inch pattern and would be a great glove for a pitcher but could be a little large for a 3B (all personal preference). Would suggest the Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB4B2 is you wanted to get an 11.75 inch pattern. As for why this glove is cheaper, it all has to do with supply and demand and the price we were able to get the glove from Wilson.

About the Brand

A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.

Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.
