Pros: excellent glove feels great and fits well, takes a while to break in but it is an all around great choice for third base and the infield

Cons: laces are a bit loose but doesnt take long to fix that.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Global Elite Series: GGE5? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this glove equivalent to a heart of the hide or better? Go Bells
This is a very quality glove with durable leather. Both gloves will require a little time to break in. You can't go wrong with either one.
Kris
Some people say Mizuno gloves run a little bit bigger so would this be like an 12 inch glove. Hogtenbach
This glove should run pretty true to form
Sean
I have a 14 year-old who plays AAA travel ball. He is a shortstop and pitcher. Right now he uses his 11.5 infield glove when he is pitching. I am interested in getting him a larger glove for pitching. Is an 11.75 closed-back glove the way to go? Hal
This will be an excellent choice for a pitcher or infielder.
K.B.
For a pitcher, would you recommend the GMP63 over the GGE5? I know the price is very different. Bob
Both gloves would be a good choice for a pitcher. When it comes to the price, the higher the price the better quality leather will be, the more durable it will be, and usually the harder the break-in will be.
Jennifer
Is this glove light in weight? How deep is the pocket? Does it fit the hand snugly or is it cut bigger? Laxdadtoo
The Mizuno Global Elite Series: GGE5 will have a lighter weight to it. This model is constructed with Mizuno's E-Lite Leather. This glove will feature a Counter Balanced system to the fingers. Which removes the weight from the fingers of the glove for better control and a lightweight feel. This glove will not fit too tightly and won't be cut too large. It is very true to size and will feel normal. The pocket will be average size and will not be too shallow or too deep.
Brandon
Would this be a good glove for a high school third baseman? I use a 12inch normally BombSQUAD
At 11.75", the Mizuno Global Elite Series: GGE5 is a great option for a third baseman at the High School level of higher.
Tyler
I am looking for a good infielders glove for a high skill level with 70% or more player break-in. Is this the glove for me or would I be better served with something like a Rawlings REVO 950 or Heart of the Hide? My price range is less than $250. jmorrispsu
The Mizuno Global Elite Series: GGE5, the Rawlings Revo 950 and the Rawlings Heart of the Hide will require more than a 70% player break-in time. The Rawlings Heart of the Hide would be the stiffest out of all three gloves.
Kara
I am a 13 year old who plays pitcher and third base. I am 5'2" and 95 lbs. Would this glove be good for me? Ryan
Yes, the 11.75" would be a good size for third base and on the mound for the Mizuno Global Elite Series: GGE5.
Brandon
What is the difference between the E-Lite leather used in this glove and the VOP leather used in other Global Elite models in terms of stiffness, feel and durability? Seeker
The Mizuno Global Elite Series: GGE5 will be lighter. Some of the felt is taken away from the finger tips for a lighter weight glove. The Global Elite VOP Series is hand oiled and will feel heavier, but will be more durable.
