Pros: I've had this glove for almost 3 years now, my whole team uses it, it is used all 6 innings, (we've been to state 3/3 years) and it's condition is a 9/10. Very impressed. The only glove i will ever own is a Mizuno.

Cons: NO CONS!

Pros: It's a sturdy glove that makes picking balls up easy and sure. It's used at the high school level and fits a hand that is prety large without exposing too much wrist. Sharp looking too!

Cons: Break in was a little longer than other reviews talked about but not bad. Could use a little less padding in the heel to allow more flexibility in opening and closing.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Franchise Series: GXF92 First Base Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

This glove is game ready, Is this glove broke in? Douglas
'Game Ready' does not necessarily mean it is completely broke in. This glove will come easier to squeeze, but the pocket will still need some work to shape the structure to the way you like it.
Jeff
will this glove work well for high pitch softball, at a novice to mediocre level ryan
I think it would work well for you. It's a quality glove at a good price. If you decide to look at other gloves, I wouldn't go any smaller than a 12.5 inch model.
Jeff
is there padding over the palm, my shortstop has a cannon ryan
This glove features an adequate amount of padding in the palm of the glove. Padding will be similar to other mitts of the same size and price range.
Jeff
Is the glove quickly broken in? CTDynasty
This glove will be pretty easy to break in. It will be as close to game ready as you can get. I would recommend using it a few times before taking in into a game. This will help you grow comfortable with the glove.
Sean
What size would you recomend for a 14 year old boy who is 5 feet 8 inches? Timothy911
You are looking at the correct size mitt. A 12.5 inch first base mitt is most common for 14 and 15 year olds.
Brett
What would be a good size for an adult? simpson
This would be suitable for an adult. On average, adults will use a 12.5 to 13 inch first base mitt.
Mark

It should work for him, but if not, we do offer the 100 day guarantee.
Linda
Will this glove work well for fast pitch softball? coach
It won't have quite as large of a pocket as a traditional fastpitch model, but it still can work.
Tyler

The GXF92 is a baseball glove.
Kara

The Mizuno franchise will last you at least two seasons, and it is going to be a little more flimsy because the leather is game ready.

My son is 11 - is this a good size for U-12 travel competition first basemen glove? Kelly
The GXF92 First Base Mitt is great for a younger player as it will be pretty soft and easy for them to use. It would be a good option for a 12U player.
Tyler
My son is 12 and has the Mizuno Prospect first base mitt, and he has had it for 3 years, and desperately needs a new one. It was a great glove. What glove do you recommend? LD
If your son has been successful with Mizuno in the past try taking a look at the Mizuno World Win Series: GXF75 First Base Mitt.
Noah
Is this a good size glove for a 9 year old? bb mm
The Mizuno Franchise Series: GXF92 First Base Mitt will be probably be too big for the average sized 9 year old. The recommended size is about 11.50 inches.
Kevin S.
Will this glove work for adult slow pitch? jc
No, The Mizuno Franchise Series: GXF92 First Base Mitt is for younger boys. I would guess that it may have too skinny of finger stalls or wrist opening for the adult slow pitch player. Also, the pocket may not have enough depth for the larger softballs.
Brandon
My son is 10 years old, 5'0" tall and weighs about 106 lbs. What size of glove should he be using? GW
The Mizuno Franchise Series: GXF92 First Base Mitt is a 12.50" mitt and may be too large for your son. I would recommend looking around a 12.00" glove.

I'm 18 and had two other gloves that have broken or busted. My team's philosophy is arm strength and it has killed all the gloves I've use so far. Can this glove take a hefty beating for a while? big JC
The Mizuno Franchise Series: GXF92 First Base Mitt is a good glove, but may not be as durable as some other gloves. Normally gloves that are more expensive are going to be made with more durable leather.
Tori
What is the size of this glove? Paul
The Mizuno Franchise Series: GXF92 First Base Mitt is a 12.50".
Kara
I am 13, is this glove good for me? sdw

Brandon
My daughter is 11, 5' 2" and 90 lbs. She plays 1B in a 10U travel ball division on a Mizuno Batbuster team. I am looking for a Mizuno glove. Is the pocket big enough for the 11" ball they play with so that the glove will help her game? The GXF56 glove sounds too heavy and cumbersome for her based on all reviews I have read. Thx. kdogg
The Mizuno Franchise Series: GXF92 First Base Mitt is 12.50" in size. At your daughter's age a 12.25" is best recommended. This glove should work just fine and allow her some room to grow into. The pocket will her to use the larger ball size. The mitt should break-in quickly and be very comfortable.
Brandon
Is this glove designed for baseball or softball? Brad
The Mizuno Franchise Series (GXF92) First Base Mitt is designed for baseball play.
Patrick
My daughter is 14 and 5'10". Would the 12.50" be her size or should she go up to a 13.00"? Looking for an infield glove for pitching, size recommendation on that as well. Dad
A 12.50" first base mitt is the recommended size for her age. The Mizuno Franchise Series (GXF92) is a great choice. We recommend a 11.75" infield glove. The Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series (GMVP1175F1) is a great option.
Kara
Is it necessary to oil it to break it in? Can you just play with it and loosen it up? Thomas
The Mizuno Franchise Series (GXF92) First Base Mitt has a game ready feel and does not require oil to break it in. Simply playing catch will break-in the glove.
Jason
My son pitches, plays 1st base and left field. He's a big 10 yr old, 5'2" 135 lbs. and almost 11. Can the first baseman glove double as a pitchers glove? And what would you recommend for outfield? Also he has a twin that's 5'4" and 140 lbs., plays outfield and 3rd. Will an outfield glove work for him? Plays third occasionally. bigtwin's dad
The Mizuno Franchise Series (GXF92) can only be used at first base. We recommend the Mizuno Prospect Series (GPT1177) when playing pitcher and outfield. We recommend the Mizuno Prospect Series (GPL1203) for his brother.
Kara
