6 Best Slow Pitch Gloves In 2021 [With One First Base Mitt]

Are you ready for the long days and late nights at the field this summer? There’s nothing better than getting together with the team, competing against the competition, and then going home with a win. A close second is that feeling when you get a new glove and play catch with it for the first time. Are you on the hunt for a new slow pitch glove? Check out the six gloves below (with one first base mitt) that we recommend as the top models for 2021. This list is based on reviews, feedback, and knowledge from our glove experts.

Let’s dive in.

1. Rawlings Player Preferred 14" Slow Pitch Softball Glove: P140BPS

Before we get into the features, pros, and cons of this Player Preferred series from Rawlings, let’s start with some of the reviews. The P140BPS is the highest rated slow pitch glove at JustGloves for the 2021 season, and at the time this article came out, there were 10+ five-star reviews. Plus, it’s under $100 dollars!

Review by UtiliCoach (Coach)

Pros: Great glove. I've had it for about 8 years. Durable lacing has barely needed adjusting. Nothing ever pops out of this basket. Contains softballs no matter how much spin/slice is on it.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that it feels a little silly when I play catch with my kid using his baseball. 14" is just too much glove for a baseball. For softball, it is a dream.

Review by Cathy (Player)

Pros: Semi broke-in leather glove at time of reception. I spent a few hours working the leather, put a ball in, and tied it off. Repeated the process a couple of times and voila, ready to use!

Cons: The lacing was a little too loose for my liking. Only took me 5 minutes to tighten up the fingers.

As you can see, the pros outweigh the cons and it’s not even close. And for the price, you really can’t go wrong. Other notable features of the 14 inch Rawlings Player Preferred Slow Pitch Glove include:

  • Adjustable, Non-Slip Pull Strap Back
  • Basket Web With Support Strap
  • Break-In: 20% Player, 80% Factory
  • Zero Shock Palm Padding For Impact Protection

2. Miken Player Series 13.5" Slow Pitch Softball Glove: PS135-PH

Miken bats dominate diamonds and are one of the highest-rated slowpitch bats year after year. Miken gloves are no different. Specifically, this Player Series model in a 13 ½ inch size is a top choice right out of the box. With next to no break-in required, Miken claims this glove arrives with a 90% factory break-in. That feature, combined with an adjustable non-slip pull back strip, makes this option perfect for players in a time crunch who need a game-ready glove. Other notable features include:

The X2 Buckaroo is a utility model that can be used at nearly every position. The 13-inch size makes it an excellent option for both infield and outfield, while the fully closed web tends to be a personal preference of pitchers on the mound. • Nolera Composite Padding System Provides Unbeatable Protection

Before we move on and round out the top three, here’s our favorite review of the X2 Buckaroo from Nokona.

Review by Debbie (Other)

Pros: I purchased this glove for my boyfriend who plays Senior Softball. He's left handed. He did all the research and chose Nokona. When I gave him his glove he turned into a little boy playing with his ball and glove on the sofa. He decided he also wanted Nokona Oil to break-in and protect the leather. He is thrilled and he says his catching has improved. There are 7 Senior teams in his league and his team is now in lead with 7 wins and two losses. He did not have his glove during the two losses.

Cons: None

4. Shoeless Joe Professional Series 14" Softball Glove: 1400HW

Shoeless Joe gloves are some of the most unique, unbeatable designs in the game today. The 1400HW is crafted with special-aged antique tobacco leather that provides the feel, style, and smell of gloves from the golden age. The large 13” size with a single post web makes it easy to handle a softball regardless of whether you’re in the infield or outfield. The best part? This 13-inch design with a fan-favorite H-web makes it a great design for both infielders and outfielders. It’s crafted out of Java leather that arrives pre-oiled for a supple feel. • H-Web
  • Two Year Manufacturer’s Warranty
  • Conventional Open Back That Delivers A Classic-Style Look
