My son is 9 years old. He is a left handed pitcher and a 1st baseman. What is the best suggestion, for the money, for a pitcher's glove?
The Mizuno Prospect Series: GPT1151 Youth glove will be an 11.50" model. The recommended size for your boy is an 11" glove. Try this Mizuno model instead: Mizuno Franchise Series: GFN1102. It will most likely be a better fit.
My son is 9 years old and plays travel baseball. He plays mostly outfield, do you think this glove is to big for him?
The Mizuno Prospect Series Youth glove will most likely be too big for you 9 year old son. We suggest a 11" glove at his age.The Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP1102 Youth and the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPL1103 Youth should work.
My son is a sophomore on his high school team and plays second base. He also might play some shortstop. I like the looks of this glove but it's too small for him, isn't it? What size would you recommend for him? He's been playing with a 12 inch glove.
Yes, the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPT1151 Youth glove will be too small. This glove is for a youth player. Typically, I see high school middle infielders using an 11.50" glove size. Third Base uses an 11.75" size. Try these gloves they will be some of the most popular under the 11.50" Adult fielders gloves: Wilson A2000 Series: A2000BBDP15GM Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Nokona Classic Walnut Series: WB1150M Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Flare Series: OFL1151
MY SON IS 11 AND HAS HAD TWO PROSPECTS ONE 11.5 AND THIS ONE 11.75..STARTING TO SEE SOME WARE AND WILL BE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER GLOVE WHAT WOULD U RECOMEND...MY SON REALLY LIKES A SOFT AND LIGHT GLOVE WITH LITTLE BREAK IN TIME
If your son likes his Mizuno gloves and are looking for a Mizuno will higher quality leather you should consider the Mizuno MVP Series gloves.
What is a good glove for my 11 year old? He has a 10.5 size right now and plays second. What size do you suggest if he had to play outfield and infield? Best all around size and brand?
If he is playing both infield and outfield I would suggest an 11.50 inch or an 11.75 inch adult gloves. Aside from the glove size, what are the differences between the GPT1151 and GPL1102 models? Construction? Durability? Something else? Thanks for your time.
The GPL1102 is an 11 inch tan glove. The GPT1151 is an 11.5 inch black glove. These are the only differences. Both gloves are in the same series and feature the same materials, break-in, durability, etc...
What glove would you recommend for a 7 yr old child that plays outfield?
An 11.50" will be too large for a 7 year old. We recommend the uno Prospect Series: GPP1002 Youth.
What's the difference, if any, between the Mizuno GPT1150 and the GPT1151? Thanks!
There is not a difference between the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPT1151 Youth and the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPT1150 Youth. The GPT1151 is simply the newest model.
Please tell me which of the two is softer, easier to close, and will break in faster? The Mizuno Prospect Series GPT1151 OR Rawlings Mark of a Pro Series: TP1150MT Youth
The Mizuno will be a little softer and easier to break in. Both will be easy to close, but the Mizuno may be just a bit easier.
Is this glove made out of real leather or something else? Will it crack or split after a short time playing?
The GPT1151 is made of real leather. It won't be quite as durable as some of Mizuno's higher priced gloves, but it is perfect for a young player that is still growing.
Would this be a good glove for a 9yr old infielder?
This glove has a size of 11.50 which is designed for infield players.
We have a 12 (almost 13) yr-old; but he's on the small side. How do you know when you go from a "youth" glove to adult? Need pitcher / infielder glove.
It depends on how comfortable your son is with an adult sized glove. The big difference between an 11 inch youth glove and an adult glove is the hand slot in the inside.
would this be a good glove for 12 year old infielder
With him being 12 yrs old, the youth glove could be a little small in the finger slots for him, depending on his hand size. But the glove itself, is an awesome glove, nice padding, easy to break in.
Would this be a good outfield glove for an 8yr old?
Yes, it would be a great glove for an eight year old outfielder.
