Description

Using 3D data from over 1000 young ballplayers, Wilson has modified five of their top A2000 models to fit a smaller hand and help them get optimal leverage when closing the glove. Now, players of all ages can have a professional quality glove designed to maximize their performance, just like the A2000 professional models do. These A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series gloves use Pro Stock American Steerhide Leather that is prized by professional players for its rugged durability and unmatched feel. It has been called "the perfect ball glove leather." On the back of these A2000 Showcase gloves players will find SuperSkin; a material that is 2x stronger than cowhide, yet 1/2 the weight, creating a glove that is both durable and ultra-lightweight. A2000 Showcase series gloves offer Wilson's Dri-Lex technology - an ultra-breathable wrist lining that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. A2000 Showcase series gloves also feature the patented Dual Welting system that offers a pre-curved finger design that helps maintain a stable and durable pocket. A master technician at Wilson spends 3x more time crafting and shaping an A2000, so players can receive a glove that is easier to break in. Playing like a pro starts with a glove that was designed to fit your hand! Wilson: More Win! Free Shipping!

Pros: The best youth glove on the market. Durable, pro-stock and super-skin are all positives. Only use Wilson A2000 conditioner/grease on this glove for cleaning/break-in.

Cons: None, better than A1000 Showcase's.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Baseball Glove: SCDW5SS Youth? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does this glove have shallow pocket and would this glove be a good choice for an 8th graders who plays 2nd and short Shortstop #3
This is designed as a glove for infielders and will have a pocket that is slightly more shallow than others. This would be a good option for a middle infielder 8th grade and on up.

my son is 8yrs old and pitches and plays infield. He has a crooked pinky finger and needs a glove that wont hurt his finger. he wants an A2000 for christmas rocky5
There is no way for us to be able to say with specificity which one will be good for your son's finger. But we do offer the 100 day guarantee, so if the one you choose does bother his finger, we pay for the shipping for it to come back and we can try another.

Hi. My son is 11 and plays outfield. He can't use a glove bigger than 11.5 - 11.75 with his small hand. He is left handed and plays club ball and little league. I want to get him a good glove and he likes the Wilson A2000, but the infielder is the only one that comes that small. Would that be an appropriate glove for him? If not, what would be? S.
I would suggest the A2000 SCB2 Youth. This will be better suited for an outfielder.
Kara
Do you guys carry a Wilson a2000 showcase 11 inch left hand throw? drun13
The smallest size we have is a 11.25 inch.
Kara
My son is 12. He is looking to upgrade his A1000 this year. He is a middle infielder. Which A2000 would you recommend ? Dan
The SCDW5SS would be a great pick. The Super Skin material is light weight and durable, appropriate for all types of players.
Shelbe
Is this glove okay for the infield and outfield? boss
Yes, the SCDW5SS would be suitable for an infield or outfield player.
Kara
Approximately what age do you recommend transitioning from a youth glove to an adult glove? AB
It really depends on the size of the player. Normally at age twelve or thirteen, players start to make the transition to an adult glove.
Kara
Could this glove be used for high school infield? K DOG
No the Wilson A2000 Showcase Series: SCDW5SS is a youth model that would not fit a high school players hand. Here is a link to a similar A2000 that would be great for high school. http://www.justballgloves.com/product/wilson-a2000-superskin-series--g4bss/12602/

My son is a small 7 year old and I want the best glove for him. I was looking at the A2000, but didn't want it to be to heavy and wanted him to be able to close the glove. He has an 11" Mizuno now that he uses so I would probably need an 11.25. Is the A2000 as just as good of a fit as the A1000? hawk2beat
The A2000 Series will fit the exact same as the A1000 Series. The only difference between these two, is that the A2000 Series is made from a higher quality leather and will be stiffer and more durable compared to the A1000 Series.
Tyler
My 10 year old plays travel baseball (75 pounds). Plays middle infield and pitches. Would you recommend this glove or the adult series? CLo
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Youth would be the appropriate glove for this age.
Damon
What is the difference in size with the showcase vs a regular A2000? If I want my 10 yr old son to get 4 or 5 years out of the glove, should I go for the regular instead on the showcase? Jjm
The quality of both gloves are going to be very similar, they will both fit very close to size maybe even running a little small. The durability of both will be the same too so you will get up to 4 or 5 years with either glove.
Noah
Can you explain the differences of the Wilson A2000 Superskin Showcase Series models SCDW5SS Youth and SC1787SS Youth? It appears the only difference is the Web pattern, so maybe the question should be can you describe the difference of the two web patterns with regard to performance, weight, break in, position, etc. raybob
The web pattern and the color are the differences between the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SCDW5SS Youth and the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth. Both will have the same break-in time and the same weight. The H-web is more reinforced for better durability.
Kara
My Son is 12 years old and is about 5'5 110 pounds. Should he use an 11.50" youth or an adult size glove? He plays 3rd base, shortstop and pitches. jim
At 12 years old I would recommend moving up to an adult glove. It is certainly dependent upon his size but in most cases 12 years old is the right time to move into an adult glove.
Jeff
My son is a small 8 years old, 4'2" and maybe 55 lbs. I want to get him a top notch glove that will last him 3-4 years. Will this ball glove be too big for him at this time? MgoBLUE
If you want something he can use for several years, the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SCDW5SS would be a good option. It is a youth model that should fit his hand well, and at 11.5", it's a size he can use for many years.
Tyler
Hi, I've seen in an online forum, someone recommended this glove for adults with small hands. I'm 5' 9" 150 lbs. and have pretty small hands. Would you think this glove could work for me? Would you think I might be better off with something like an A2000 DP 15? Thanks. Paul
The A2000BBDP15GM adult glove would probably be the better choice for you. Youth models just do not always work for adults. The Dustin Pedroia model will have skinny finger stalls and a smaller wrist opening that should suit you well.
Brandon

Wilson should be release their new line of gloves this fall.
Kara

I'm a college player, but my hands are very small. Would you recommend a glove like this or getting the DP15? Greeny
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Baseball Glove: SCDW5SS Youth is a youth glove and will be too small for a college player. The DP15 is an adult glove and would be a better option.
