Description

Using 3D data from over 1000 young ballplayers, Wilson has modified five of their top A2000 models to fit a smaller hand and help them get optimal leverage when closing the glove. Now, players of all ages can have a professional quality glove designed to maximize their performance, just like the A2000 professional models do. These A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series gloves use Pro Stock American Steerhide Leather that is prized by professional players for its rugged durability and unmatched feel. It has been called "the perfect ball glove leather." On the back of these A2000 Showcase gloves players will find SuperSkin; a material that is 2x stronger than cowhide, yet 1/2 the weight, creating a glove that is both durable and ultra-lightweight. A2000 Showcase series gloves offer Wilson's Dri-Lex technology - an ultra-breathable wrist lining that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. A2000 Showcase series gloves also feature the patented Dual Welting system that offers a pre-curved finger design that helps maintain a stable and durable pocket. A master technician at Wilson spends 3x more time crafting and shaping an A2000, so players can receive a glove that is easier to break in. Playing like a pro starts with a glove that was designed to fit your hand! Wilson: More Win! Free Shipping!

Pros: Great glove!!! If you have a small hand but want a good glove, look no further. It shapes well, holds the shape you want, and only takes a week to break in if you use it a lot. Looks good to, picture doesn't do it justice.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would you recommend this glove for an 11 year old who plays middle infield and some outfield? Do you think it would be too big for his hand? iWarrior12
At 11.5 inches, this would be an excellent option for an 11 year old who plays multiple positions. This is a youth model, so it will fit a younger players hand (or older player with a small hand) very well.
Derek
If I buy this glove and I want to return it, will you let me return it if I have used it? A Person
Yes. You many return the glove within 100 days from the date of purchase for a full refund or exchange.
KB
With this having a shallow pocket, would it be to shallow for a 3rd baseman? Or should we consider another glove for a 13 year old with small but wide hands? Thanks. Digger
Shallow pockets are normally preferred by infielders. This glove should not be a problem for a 3rd baseman. We do have a 100 day guarantee on our gloves. You can return it for a full refund or exchange if you are not completely satisfied.
KB
How is this glove on protection (padding)? Digger
The SC1787SS has great padding for a youth glove.
KB
Does this glove have super skin? LOU
This glove does have the SuperSkin material. The black material on the back of the glove, is the SuperSkin part of the glove.
Jennifer
What makes this glove "youth?" I love the look and I'm looking for an 11.5, but since I play high school ball I obviously dont want a kids' glove. Jordan
Youth gloves are made for smaller hands. They have smaller wrist openings and more narrow finger stalls to accommodate the hands of younger players. Since you are in high school, a youth glove will not fit you. The closest glove we have to this one is the Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS found here: http://www.justballgloves.com/product/wilson-a1000-superskin-series--bb1786ss/14309/
Jennifer
Is this glove too big for my 7yr old, if so what high-end glove would you recommend? Ronnie
The Wilson A2000 Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth should fit a seven year old's hand just fine.
Zach
I am 16 but i have a small hand is this glove suitale for me I am 5'5? ashton
Yes. This is a youth model that will fit a player with smaller hands very well.
Tyler
my son is moving up to 11u travel ball, he is a regular size, almost 11years old, skinny kid, do you think this would fit him good? where is this glove made? thanks for your help dave
An 11.5 inch glove like the Wilson SC1787SS is a great utility glove for an 11 or 12 year old. Wilson produces most of their gloves in the Philippines.
Tyler
I'm 16 but I like a snug fit, would you suggest this glove or the DP15 which has a smaller hand opening? Baseball
I would suggest the Wilson DP15. Since you are 16, I would stay with an adult model.
Nick K.
My son is 13 and a second baseman and pithcer. is this a good glove for him?? also can you break the glove in for him? thanks paul
An 11.5" model is a great size for an infielder and pitcher. The A2000 SC1787SS is a high quality glove he should have great success with. We do not offer a break in service as it is always best for the player who will be using the glove to break it in on their own. This is because the glove will conform to the hand of the individual using the glove.
Tyler
Is there a difference in the 11.5 youth and the 11.5 adult? CartZ
Both will be 11.50 inches but the area the hand goes in a youth model is considerably smaller than it would be in an adult glove.
Tom
Hey, what is a better glove the Wilson A2000 or the Louisville Slugger Omaha Flare? dp2197
The Wilson A2000 Showcase Series uses a higher quality leather and will be more durable than the Louisville Slugger Omaha Flare Series.
Kara
How stiff is the glove? Is break in faster than a regular A2000? Compared to a a1000 hows the break in? Jeff
The Wilson A2000 SC1787SS is a youth glove that will be fairly easy to break in. It will be stiffer than an A1000, but shouldn't take longer than half a week to break-in.
Tyler
I am 13 and am deciding between this glove or a Rawlings Pro Preferred PROS15ICB. I am small for my age and have small hands which glove would you recommend? INDIANS#28
Any youth model gloves will likely be too small for any 13 year old even though you are small for your size. Here is a link to compare a different Wilson A2000 model to Rawlings Pro Preferred. http://www.justballgloves.com/compare/
Tom
I'm trying to get the best glove I can for my nine year old who plays infield on his travel team. I'm trying to choose between this A2000 and the 11.25 A1000 which glove do youth think would be the best fit? dave
The Wilson A2000 Showcase Series is the perfect fit. It is made of a higher quality leather than the A1000 for better durability.
Kara
My son will turn seven in one month in August. He is already playing at a high level in the infield and I am looking for a high quality glove. My honest question: is this glove going to be too large for a 7 year olds small hand? Josh
Right now, an 11.5" glove like the Wilson SC1787SS may be a little too big for a 7 year old. However, it is a very high quality glove that will last a long time, and he'll definitely be able to grow in to it. A more common size for a 7 year old is around 10.5" to 11".
Tyler
Could you play a little bit of outfield with this glove? nickg
The Wilson A2000 Showcase Series: SC1787SS is designed for infield play but could be used in the outfield if you needed to. Typically outfield gloves are 12.00" or more.
Tom
Is this a good glove for 12 year old that plays 2nd and 3rd base? riles
The Wilson A2000 Showcase Series, SC1787SS would be a great fit for an infielder. Though second basemen sometimes prefer to use a 11.25 to allow for a quicker transfer of ball from the glove to the throwing hand.
Shelbe
Would you recommend this or the Rawlings Heart of the Hide? I'm 11. 24
The Wilson A2000 Showcase Series uses SuperSkin materials, for a more lightweight glove, great for a younger player.
Kara
I am 11 and I play 3rd base and center field is this a good glove for that? Hunter
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS is 11.50" which would be a little small to use in center field. This is also a youth model which may be too small for your hand. I would recommend using an 11.75" glove if you are playing both 3rd base and center field.
Tom
I am 12 years old and have a 12 inch youth glove for pitching. Could I change gloves to a Wilson A2000 SC1787SS 11.5 inch adult glove? Anonymous
A 11.50" adult glove would be fitting for your age and position. However, the SC1787SS is a youth model. The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: G4BSS would be an adult 11.50".
Kara
My son is 8 and plays shorstop and second base would this be the right glove for him? Henry
For an 8 year old shortstop, an 11" model may be most common, but he'll probably get more seasons out of an 11.25" or 11.5" model as they'll offer more room to grow in to.
Tyler
I'm almost 15 and I am relatively small for my age and I was wondering if this was a good fit for me? zipp
Even though you are small for your age, this would still be too small for a 15 year old because it is a youth model. Here is a link to a Wilson A2000 that would be a better fit for you. http://www.justballgloves.com/product/wilson-a2000-series--a2000bbdp15gm/14337/
Tom
What is the difference between the youth an adult model of this glove. hi
A youth glove fits smaller for a youth player. The adult model is regular size for a non-youth player.
Tyler
Does it matter if I'm 14, even though it says it is a youth glove? Kyle
If you are 14, I would suggest an adult model. The youth models will have smaller hand openings and smaller finger stalls designed for kids hands.
Nick
What is the differance in this glove and the wilson bb1786ss? hc42bball
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS is an A2000 model made with a higher quality leather compared to the Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS model.
Tyler
Is the pinky big enough to put 2 fingers in the pinky? hg[wtrrhfs
The pinkie stall on the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth glove is a little more narrow than average, as this is a youth model, and probably not big enough to accommodate two fingers.
Tyler
Even though I'm 14 and in high school could I use this glove or would my hand be too big? I really like the looks and lightweight SuperSkin on this glove. dominic
This youth model of the A2000 would be too small for your hand. Here is a link to a SuperSkin A2000 that would fit your hand and be very lightweight. http://www.justballgloves.com/product/wilson-a2000-superskin-series--g4bss/12602/
Tom
I'm 11 and I play pitcher and infield. Is it good for those positions??? Zane-o
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series would be a very good choice for a pitcher and infielder.
Nick
Would this glove be good for a 12 year old with a small hand? brandon
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series could be used for a 12 year old with smaller hands. Keep in mind we do have a 100 day guarantee on our gloves. If you are not completely satisfied you may return it for a full refund or exchange.
Kara
My son is 8 years old and plays middle in-field and is on the smaller side, what is the best glove for him? Da King
We recommend a 10.50" to an 11.00" glove for his age, size and position. However, the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series would be an excellent choice if you want a glove the player can grow into.
Kara
I am in high school in my second year, really looking for a golve that is light, and that looks good. What glove should I get? I play middle infield. ariel
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series is a youth model and will be two small for a high school player. We recommend the Wilson A2000 Series: A2000BB1786ST adult model.
Kara
My son is 10, small hands, plays pitcher & Stop, AAA travel team,,,the only real thing keeping me from jumping on the A2000 is the price,,,then i look at the A1000 and other similar gloves at that price point,,,guess i keep going back-n-forth. Is this glove really head-n-shoulders better than the rest? Any advice? 76_tiger
With gloves... Price is the absolute best indicator of quality. The higher the price = the higher the quality of the leather. The higher the quality of the leather = more durability. The A2000 will be stiffer and more durable than the A1000. For a younger player who isn't fully developed, the A1000 may be a better choice as it will be softer and easier for a younger player to squeeze.
Tyler
My son is 11 years old and plays on an elite "majors" travel team. He wants the A2000 but wants a glove he can grow into and use all the way through high school. Should he get the Youth Model or will the standard 1786SS glove fit and work for him? He plays second and shortstop. NFLPhd
For your son who is 11 the regular adult model Wilson A2000 1786SS will be a great fit for him now and will fit well through high school. The youth model gloves will most likely be a little small now and would not be a good fit as he continues to grow.
Tom
The description says it's a youth model and i play in high school. Would this glove fit my hand or should i look at another model? jack
A youth glove will be too small for a High School age player. I recommend looking at an 11.5" non-youth glove.
Tyler
I am 5"6 and I want a glove that looks nice and performs well. Would this glove fit my hand right because i want it really bad? poopymouth
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS is a Youth glove that is suited best for players under 12 years old, or older players with smaller than average hands.
Tyler
I am 12 and 5 foot should I get this glove or an adult one????? I don't have the biggest hands Ant
That's a tough call for us to make without being able to see the glove on your hand, and without knowing what size glove you currently wear and how it feels on your hand. By the time most players reach 12 years old, they are starting to transition away from youth models. I recommend contacting our knowledgeable customer support team as they will be able to gather more information and offer a more accurate recommendation. Our toll free number is 1-866-321-4568.
Tyler
My son is 9 years old and I am looking into upgrading his glove to either a Rawlings Gold Glove Gamer Pro Taper GG1102G or the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series SC1787SS. I am a Rawlings fan but I am a little worried that the 11" size may be a little on the small size and not last as long as the slightly larger and higher quality A2000. I figure if I go with the A2000 he could use it until he is 12-13 then move into an adult glove. Not sure if the Rawlings would last as long due to size and leather quality. What are your thoughts??? Dan
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS will be stiffer and more durable than the Rawlings Gold Glove Gamer Pro Taper Series: GG1102G. If longevity is a key criteria, the Wilson A2000 is recommended.
Tyler
Do you anticipate having the SC1796SS Youth model in stock anytime soon? I would prefer an 11.25 versus the 11.50 glove mentioned above? My son will be 10 in December and I think the 11.25 would be a better size for him given his size and position. Rob Riz
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: A2000SC1796SS Youth glove is still in-line, and we expect to receive more. However, we do not have a firm ETA, and will be at least another 2-3 weeks.
Tyler
Does this glove have the same leather as the other a2000 gloves and is it easier to break in or not? 30fke
Both gloves have the Super Skin Technology that offers twice the strength as normal leathers with half the weight and instant flexibility. Both gloves will take approximately the same amount of time to break in. Here is an excellent resource for how to properly break in your glove: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-resource-guide/breaking-in-a-glove/
Jeff
Is there any difference between the showcase glove line and the A2000 DP15? joker
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS is a youth model. The Wilson A2000 Series: A2000BBDP15GM is an adult model.
Kara
is this glove pro stiff or traditional? joker
Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS is not very stiff. It will have a quick break-in period.
Kara
How does this glove compare to the Rawlings heart of the hide series gloves? Jared
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series and Rawlings Heart of the Hide Pro Taper Series Youth gloves feature the same durability and break-in time.
Tyler
My son is 8 and plays shortstop on a 9 and under travel team. Is this glove a good size for him? matt
We would recommend a 9.50-10.50" glove for his age. The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series Youth: SC1787 SS is an 11.50" model.
Damon
Is it possible to get my son's name stitched on this glove? kaner
Unfortunately, we do not have the capabilities to customize or embroider gloves.
Tyler
Would it be good for a 12 year old (110lbs)? Bims
Much depends on what position(s) he plays. I recommend our Glove Coach. It's a great tool: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Tyler
How long will this glove take to fully break in? If I use it 3 times a week? If I don't like this glove after I use it, can I still return it? whatevs
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth glove will take a while to break-in.(2-3 weeks) It will feature the Superskin on this glove which will allow a quicker break-in than an all Pro Stock leather A2000. You can oil it, play with it, break it in, and still return it. This glove will have a 100 day guarantee on it.
Brandon
Which Superskin model do you recommend for 13 year old infielder? Dede
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS will be the most popular A2000 Superskin Series glove in the 11.50" size. This is the size recommended for the 13 year old middle infielder. If he plays third base, he may feel more comfortable using a glove size of 11.75".
Brandon
I haven't purchased it yet but my son is starting high school ball as a freshman and wants a A2000 SuperSkin SC1787SS Youth. He mentioned a youth glove but I don't want to be buying another glove a couple years down the road. Blaine
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth is too small for a freshman. An adult glove will be better suited for him. For correct sizing for his position and age, check out our glove coach: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Kara
My 13 year old son plays travel ball and is a leftie. He plays second, center, and pitches a little. He is not real big 85 pounds or so and not real big hands but is a tough competitor. We want an awesome glove that delivers great results and will be ready to use for try outs in 2 months. What do you think? Thanks, Baseball mom Good Will Bunting
For a 13 year old utility player, a 12" glove is recommended. The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS is an 11.5" youth model that probably wouldn't work for him. With gloves, you truly get what you pay for. The higher the price, the higher the quality of the leather and more durable that glove will be. So, much depends on your price range. Some of the most durable gloves would be the Mizuno Pro Limited Edition Series: GMP100 and Rawlings Pro Preferred Series: PROS12MTKB. If you want something at a little more reasonable price, the Wilson A2000 Series: A2000BBCJWGM and Rawlings Heart of the Hide Pro Mesh Series: PRO12DM are a few great options. All have break-in times of less than 2 months.
Tyler
How much smaller are the hand slots than the dp15? I have the dp15 but I'm looking for something that would be a little more snug on my hand. savelkoul21
The Wilson A450 Series: A0450BBDP15 and Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS are both youth models that will fit the same.
Tyler
If you oil this glove or use the Nokona glove conditioner will it discolor the glove? Alex
No, you would be fine using the Nokona glove conditioner on other gloves.
Chad M.
I am 16 playing high school ball, I really like how this glove looks but I am concerned with the Youth size. G32
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth glove will feature thinner fingers than an adult glove, so you may have some trouble with it.
Kevin
What would be the adult model version of this glove? I want it black and tan with SuperSkin. Dodgers12345
The adult model is the Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS.
Kevin
My daughter (16) 5'3" uses the A1000 11.75" in travel ball, but I like this glove. Would it probably be too small? The A1000 works well but might be a little too large in the hand size. Tom
It's hard to say without being able to see her try it on, or without an idea of how big her hands are. The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS is designed as a youth baseball glove and best fits boys around the ages of 8-10 years old. If she has hands that are comparable in size to a 10 or even 11 year old male, then this glove should fit just fine.
Tyler
I'm 13 and looking for a new glove. I'd like to move away from my Mizuno and go to Wilson. I play shortstop. What glove would you recommend? And I would like it to be 11.50". EB
Wilson has several options to look at in the 11.50 inch range. In my opinion, the best they have to offer in that category would be the Wilson A2000 Superskin G4BSS. This glove would require a little break-in, but is a great cut of leather and very durable. Here is the link if you would like to view some more options by Wilson. http://www.ballglovewarehouse.com/products/size~11.50/vendor~wilson/glove%20type~baseball/
Derek
Will you guys be getting a new shipment of right handed thrower gloves? ZEBBY
We don't have a firm date, but we expect to receive more Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth gloves within the next 2-4 weeks.
Tyler
Will right handed thrower be available before Christmas? Jake
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth is a discontinued model and we will no longer be receiving anymore of this model.
Tori
Since this model is discontinued, do you expect Wilson to come out with a new A2000 youth model? Or, will they stop selling a youth model? jones
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SC1787SS Youth is discontinued. However, the Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB4DP15 is the replacement for the A2000 Showcase gloves.
Kara
Can the wrist size of the glove be adjusted for a bigger fit? mark
You are able to adjust the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series (SC1787SS) model to fit tighter around the wrist. It has holes available that you are able to re-lace the wrist strap to fit tighter.
John
Which A2000 do you prefer? Will
All the Wilson A2000 gloves are solid choices to go with. It will come down to the size and position that you are needing a glove for. For example, the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series (SC1787SS) is a Youth glove, so it will feature shorter finger stalls and smaller wrist openings with a Youth hand in mind. It also boasts an 11.50" pattern, which is ideal for the infield/pitching positions.
