Heavy!!! Anonymous Parent

Pros: Nice looking glove and good quality materials and workmanship.

Cons: This glove is sooooo heavy...for adults! I got this for my 11 year old niece and my arm got tired while oiling it for 3 minutes. Playing catch was like doing curls with a 25 lb dumbbell. It was also extremely stiff and needs weeks of break-in. Not a good glove for kids at all, and I wouldn't use it either.

Wilson A1000 J Howse Parent

Pros: Seems like a quality glove. Now that my sons playing, I needed a glove to throw with him. It wasn’t too stiff and was comfortable right out of the box. Can only imagine what the A2000 feels like as this glove has no faults.

Cons: I guess the price. But nothings free and you pay for quality!

Proud Dad K Williams Parent

Pros: This is a true all leather baseball glove and what an honor it was giving it to my son for his birthday. My two sons and I now have good quality Wilson gloves that we play catch every weekend and they play for school teams. This glove is beautiful (traditional) walnut leather. It's already becoming fun to break in and great to catch with. It's top quality through and through. A true heirloom that will earn its place on the field and pass down the line to a younger generation. Thanks Wilson for continuing the tradition of fine leather baseball gloves. My son loves it and I'm a proud Dad!

Cons: It's stiff, but that's the fun of a new glove. Oiling it, heating it and playing with in to break it in. When you see your son working the leather and fitting the ball in the pocket... that's what it's all about. It's life's lesson, you have to work it to make it your own.

Good glove for the price. Brian M. Parent

Pros: Played some catch today after working it a bit and the glove is great. Doesn't feel flimsy and is very roomy in the pinky stall which is nice as that's how I am breaking this one in with 2 in the pinky. Had my son put some heat on his throws and its forming a nice pocket pretty easily.

Cons: None.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How will the fit compare to the Wilson A1000 Pedroia fit? My 9 yr old son uses an 11.25" for infield now, needs an outfield glove. Ron
The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 will not feature as snug of a fit compared to a Pedroia fit A1000. With that being said, this glove, although suited for OF, would be too big for a 9 year old. A better option to use in the OF at the player's current age would be the Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB191787.
Cameron
Is this glove appropriate for a 10 yo using a Wilson 11.5 ADPD15115PF? CG
Would not recommend the Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 for a 10 year old player. If you are seeking an OF glove for the player, we would recommend 11.75 inch, maybe a 12.00 inch glove.
Cameron
Would this glove be the right size for a 12 year old playing centerfield? Brian Lambiotte
A 12.5" model is a typical size for an outfield player, yes.
Kyle
Would this glove be appropriate for a 15yr old high school outfielder? Would it be to small in a couple of seasons? Jim Brown
This would be just fine for outfield play. Even MLB players use 12.5"-13" sized gloves for outfield.
Kyle
Is this glove good for a 16 year old who plays advance baseball? Olvein Diaz
The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 is a good OF glove option for a younger player, ideally between the ages of 12-15. For someone that is 16 years old, and playing advance baseball, the Wilson A2000 series would be a better option, such as the Wilson A2000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA20RB19KP92.
Cameron
Good glove for a 14 year old outfielder? jim
The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 would be a good glove to consider for a 14 year old outfielder. This glove is designed for an adolescent and teenaged hand and will fit some adult hands. The size of the glove, at 12.50 inches, is a perfect size for a 14 year old outfielder.
Cameron
Can this glove be use for softball? Ron
Yes, a baseball glove, like the Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 could certainly be used in softball.
Cameron
For softball, can it be used for adult infield 3rd base? Or another size? Bob
One could use the Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 for adult softball and 3B.
Cameron
I have very large hands and have difficulty getting a baseball glove to fit. What size and brand do you recommend to fit my large hand? Sterling
Glove size is based on position played as opposed to hand size. The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 would be a model to consider for pitchers that prefer a bigger glove. Most pitchers will use 12.00-12.50, an infielder will go 11.25-11.75 and OF typically uses 12.50-13.00. Size will be determined by age too. A player that is 13, and plays the OF, would not benefit from a glove at 12.50-13.00 typically.
Cameron
Looking for a quality glove for my 11 year old. Plays infield and outfield. Ryan
The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 would be too big for an 11 year old utility player. For someone playing all over the diamond, at 11 years of age, we would recommend a glove between 11.50-11.75 inches.
Cameron
Is this an glove for adults? Alexander
This Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 is Designed For An Adolescent And Teenaged Hand (Will Fit Most Adult Hands).
Ryan
Recommendation for 11-year-old pitcher that also plays infield, usually short stop. Would this be the one? Or A2000? Teresa
The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 would be too large of a glove for an 11-year-old pitcher and shortstop, in my opinion. I would suggest the Wilson A1000 DP15 11.5" Baseball Glove: WBW100132115 or the much stiffer Wilson A2000 DP15 11.5" Baseball Glove: WBW100108115.
Frank
Would this glove be a good choice for a soon to be 13 year old with small hands ? Colby
The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 may be a little big at first but it something that can easily be grown into. This will be one of the better gloves on the market.
Dillon
I want to know about warranty of this glove. Does it cover up to 12 month? Jack Choi
To learn more about what Wilson offers, in terms of a warranty claim on a glove or mitt, like the Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92, we would recommend visiting Wilson's website directly.
Cameron
Size for 14 year old pitcher? Chuck
For a 14 year old pitcher, we would recommend a glove around 11.75-12.25 inches, The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 can also be a great option if the pitcher prefers a larger glove.
Cameron
Does this glove work to play with softballs, or just baseballs? Ben larner
The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 can be used to catch softballs as well.
Cameron
I play short stop in a senior softball league. We play at a fairly high level and I'm looking for a glove that breaks in easy. I have a small hand and currently play with a Wilson A800. I love the glove. It was an easy break in. How does the A1000 compare? Gregg Johnson
The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 features slightly better leather and additional padding when compared to the A800 series.
Cameron
Would this glove fit an adult hand? Allen Bryant
The Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 is going to fit most adult hands as the wrist set up and finger stalls are set up at the larger hand setting.
Cameron
Is a 12.5" glove allowed for Little League outfield players in 12U? Tony Principato
Yes, it could be used but we would recommend a smaller glove than this Wilson A1000 12.5" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB20KP92 for a 12U player. A better size would be 11.75-12 inches for OF play at the 12U level.
