Description

This Shoeless Joe Glove 1150IW gives a player the quality, feel and style of the gloves worn by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models worn in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series or today`s models in the Professional Model Series. The Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the Glove with a beaten up and game worn look and feel of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it its own unique feature. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. A great play is lived only once, but your glove, you`ll keep it forever. If you end a game with a clean uniform our gloves are not for you. Shoeless Joe: When it Was Just a Game! Free Shipping!

Big Rik

Pros: I bought this glove in the middle of my season to replace my Nokona 121/2 inch I was using at Shortstop. I was worried about going down to a 11 1/2 for softball, but this glove is great. Traps the ball good and gives you a really quick transfer from glove to hand. Break in was a hour of catch prior to the game that night. Great quality & old time look is priceless.

Cons: none.

asoul

Pros: Great old look and feel to the glove. Break in is easy but the thumb and pinky stay rigid to keep the glove working properly.

Cons: It would be nice if the glove had a little more padding. There is virtually no padding in the palm of the glove so if you get the ball in the palm instead of the pocket it is going to sting.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Shoeless Joe Professional 11.5" Baseball Glove: 1150IW? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this size and web good for third base as a freshman? aval16
Yes, this would be a good size for a freshman that plays 3rd base. Most infielders use 11.00-11.50 inch gloves. This would be a great glove for third because most use a little bigger glove at the corner to get to the ball.
Brett
Can a glove that is listed as fastpitch be used for slow pitch softball as well? John
Yes it can. There are not restrictions or rules that say it can't be.
TJ
Do you think this is glove will fit an 8 yr old ? Mainly concern about the hand size and being able to squeeze the ball . Or would the the junior version be more suitable. Also, do you have this model in 11 in? JJ826
I would suggest you look into the youth model. The youth model will be more designed for smaller hands and have smaller finger stalls, which would probably be better suited for an 8 year old.
Jennifer
My 10 year old son plays a lot of second base. Would this be a good size and or glove for him? Hi
The Shoeless Joe 1150IW is an 11.5 inch model. For his age, we would recommend a smaller glove of 11" to 11.25".
Aubrey
Is this glove fit for a 10 year old second baseman? Hi
The Shoeless Joe Professional Series is an adult glove and will be too big for a 10 year old. We recommend a youth glove in a 11.25" to a 11.50".
Kara
Where are Shoeless Joe gloves made? biglittleman
Shoeless Joe Gloves are made in Mexico.
Noah
How do these stack up against and A2000 or a high end Mizuno glove? giants123
The Shoeless Joe Professional Series are very nice gloves. They will use a softer leather that will require less break-in compared to the A2000's and the high end Mizuno's.
John
I'm on a select 13u baseball team and I play a lot of second base. Would this be a good glove for me? Np20
Yes, the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1150IW would be a very good glove for a middle infielder. The 11.50" size is small enough to allow for easier and faster transfers of the ball out of the glove when fielding ground balls or turning double plays, and the I-Web of this particular model is one favored by many infielders as well.
Kyle
When broken in, will this glove be floppy like the cheaper A500? Or will it feel like a good A2000? Bobby
The Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1150IW) will be a solid mixture of both gloves you mentioned. It will not be as stiff as the A2000. But it will hold its shape very well for a glove made from the very soft Tobacco Leather.
Brandon
What would the difference be between the 1150IW & 1175IW? I have a 14 year old that plays most infield positions (Pitcher, Third base, Short Stop & First Base). Between those two which would you recommend? Nick
The main difference between the Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1150IW) and the Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1175IW) is the sizing. The 1150IW is a 11.50" pattern, whereas the 1175IW is a 11.75" pattern. Based on his age and position, our Glove Coach recommends a 11.25" pattern. Sizing is preferential though, so if he would like to go up in size, that is something to take into consideration. Both gloves are great choices, it will truly depend on his preference on sizing.
Tessa
I have a 10 year old who currently uses an Akadema AZR95. He complains that the glove is too small for his hand. He plays both infield and outfield and would like a glove that is a bit larger than the AZR95. Recommendations here are to go with a youth model but I don't want to be in the same situation if we go with something like the ARC88 or the ATM92 - 12. Thoughts? Scoop65
If the youth model glove like the Akadema Prodigy Series (AZR95-12 Youth) is fitting too snug, it may be that your player's hands are getting too large for that smaller fit. It may be good to go with a more transitional style glove like the Wilson A1K or Rawlings Pro Taper line.
Patrick
How good is the quality of these gloves? Which glove would it compare to and will it hold its shape? c
The Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1150IW) is a nice quality glove. It has good durable leather but is designed to be softer and have a more worn feel. It is hard to compare it because most gloves with this quality of leather will not be as soft by design. If taken care of it should how its shape well.
Patrick
My son is 11 and moved from outfield to now playing 2nd base and pitching. The glove he is using now is a Shoeless Joe 13 inch. What glove would work best for him now? I know the one he has is way to big. duane
An 11.5 inch model like the Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1150IW) or a 12 inch model like the Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1175BW) would be a nice option for a player at that position.
Patrick
Is this a good glove for a middle infielder? t
At 11.50", the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1150IW would be a great choice for a middle infielder.
Marcus
Which Shoeless Joe glove size do you think an 11 year old shortstop should use? eli
I would recommend the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1125CW glove for a 11 year old shortstop. I think the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1150IW would work well too.
Carter
The glove looks great, but what's its weight? Again, looks great, but is it chunky and heavy? Will
The Shoeless Joe Professional Series Baseball Glove: 1150IW will weigh roughly 582 grams.
Cameron
Would this glove be good for a college third basemen? Joshua
This Shoeless Joe Professional Series Baseball Glove (1150IW) could be a good option for a non-competitive college player, but if they are playing high competition I would suggest a Wilson A2000 or Rawlings Heart of the Hide.
