Shoeless Joe Gloves give a player the quality, feel and style of the gloves used by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models used in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series, today's models in the Professional Model Series, or youth gloves with the Joe Junior Series. Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the glove with a beaten up and "Game Worn" look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it its own unique features. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. My 9 yr old son uses an Easton NAtural Elite Youth 115NEY glove. Would this Shoeless Joe be too small for his hand? If not great. If so what other comparable glove would you recommend? Thx John
A glove around 11 inches would be better suited for a 9 year old. This Shoeless Joe is a 10 inch model that is a better fit for a 7 or 8 year old. It would probably fit him fine, but may be a little small.

My son is five and beginning t-ball... I've been looking at 9-9.5" gloves but I'm not happy with the selections in this category. How adjustable is the glove on the wrist? In your experience, is a 10-inch glove too much for a young beginner? This seems like the kind of glove he could fall in love with... todds
A 10 inch glove may be a tad too big for your son right now, but it's definitely not too big to where he won't be able to use it. The 1000JR is a soft glove that should be easy for a younger player to squeeze. You can adjust the wrist strap, but there are only two settings and it's not as easily adjustable as a Velcro strap featured on a lot of other youth gloves. If you get this glove for him, we do have a 100-day satisfaction guarantee if he doesn't like it or if it's too big.

My 10 year old is currently using a hand-me-down 11" Wilson A350 and it fits him well. I love the look of your gloves and they seem to be constructed well. Not to mention all of the good reviews. I know all gloves fit differently, but how does your 10" youth glove fit compared to comparable brands. He's a big kid (5'1"/113 lbs) and I want him to have this for years to come. The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JR is 10" youth glove that will be too small for your average 10 year old. 10" gloves are a better fit for players around 6 or 7 years old. For a player of his size, our glove coach would recommend the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (1000JR Youth) in a 10.00 inch model. The average size for that age of child can vary between a 9.50 and 10.00 inch pattern.

The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (1000JR) Youth actually comes pre-oiled, so we would recommending erring on the side of caution when adding an extra oil to the glove. Most people use shaving cream (preferably with lanolin), but you may also use others like Vaseline, mink oil, tanner's glove oil, glove manufacturers oils, saddle soap, etc.

We recommend an 11 inch glove for a 9 year old player. So the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (1000JR Youth) would be too small. I recommend looking at the Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1125CW). This will be a little big for a 9 year old but it will give him growing room.
