Rawlings Pro Preferred Series: PROSFMMO First Base Mitt
Average Customer Review
My PROSSC21B 12.5" mitt wore out (after five years of HEAVY use) and when I went to replace it, I found that it was discontinued. This is a perfect step up in a replacement glove. It is a little bit bigger mitt cut from a very similar pattern with the same single-post web. This makes it easy to transfer all the "feel" and technique I had built up with the earlier glove for scoops and rakes.
None so far. It is breaking in well.
This is a really nice glove. I am left handed. I am switching to this from a Pro Preferred Prossc21 which has 2 break points in the heal, which was not best for the way i catch. I have always been more comfortable with the 1 break point, and this glove is no exception. It is a big glove but that just makes it easier to catch with because of how light weight the glove is. Literally it feels like it could be a middle infield glove weight wise. the single post web is also nice and stretches out to form a good pocket. the index finger pad is kind of awkwardly positioned for my hand, but it still gets the job done. Overall just a very good solid glove that i will be using for my last 3 seasons of college baseball.
Not a huge fan of the white stitching but it still looks okay. I like the mocha color, and the cream colored "Rawlings" and "The Gold Glove Co" look really nice with the mocha. As far as break in goes it will take a while like all pro preferred gloves do. With regular use, you should be able to squeeze the glove comfortable within a few weeks of use, but the leather in the pocket and web will not be completely worked in and broken in for months depending on how much you use it.
