Pros: Cool design, catches well, good for multi position first baseman.
Cons: Leather wears easily. Don't play too much normal catch with it, and it should be fine
mike
Pros: Perfect fitting and game ready
Cons: Gets very flimzy and weak. The ball gets stuck in the webbing. I gets to soft to quik.
Tbomb
Pros: Nice glove, very broken-in. Loose feel provides the pocket to trap the ball when picked out of the dirt.
Cons: Cheap leather. Trained with it for one season and the leather in the pocket started tearing. If you know you will be playing first for a while, spend the extra money for a higher quality glove.

Gamer Guy
Pros: This is a very good glove. I've had it for over 2 years now and it still holds up. It makes it very easy to scoop balls out of the dirt and the shape allows every ball to find the exact same spot in the webbing every time, making transitioning the ball from glove to hand slightly quicker.
Cons: There isn't much padding and after about a year it got slightly floppy, but still a really great glove.
Dbates
Pros: It has descent leather and breaks in quickly.
Cons: Gets too soft and breaks down. It's hard to scoop with and looses padding in about 2 months. Also, it feels weird.

Pros: My son has played with this glove for 5 years and it has seen it's better days. With care and oiling it's lasted a long time. He needs a new one but it's a fight because of how comfortable he is with this glove.
Cons: Has needed restringing a few times and tightening a few times. This is over 5 yrs and hundreds of games and practices.

Pros: breaks in easy
Cons: glove pocket folds in half after less than season. Impossible to scoop balls. lost intergrity of the pocket. Reading all these good reviews are misleading. Maybe its just defective.

Cons: Laces tend to unravel (like most gloves) and it has minimal padding.
Cdubya
Pros: Used it every game for the whole game all season. It broke in in just under a week. That season, I had only two errors. It was the best defensive season of my life, and look forward to using the glove for many years to come.
Cons: NONE, after a 20 game season, I have no possible complaints. Worth every penny, I would have payed more.
1ST BASEMAN 4 LIFE
Pros: Everything. The way this glove is shaped allows the ball to somehow find its way into the webbing. The GGFBG 1st baseman glove also provides style and comfort. I would reccomend this glove to any 1st baseman out tere who wants to step up their game defensively. This glove's leather allows you to brea it in in about 3 hours. Very little time.
Cons: None. The only thing this glove has done is help me and I think it can help you too.
DA SPORTSGUY 13

Pros: Delivered in 2 days , my son was using it with good confidence in our 1st tourn. , it didn't seem to need any break-in time.
Cons: None that I can think of
etchy
Pros: My daughter uses it for softball and broke in easy and fast. She loves it. Would recommend to anyone.
Cons: none
Chris
Pros: Excellent mitt. Easy to break in and pocket forms nicely. Traps balls that miss the pocket quite well, which makes getting the short hops a little easier. Much better quality than the Renegade, Player Preferred, Team Dealer or Sandlot series mitts. This is one step below Heart of the Hide and this mitt will last a long time if properly cared for.
Cons: NONE. I've had it for a year now, playing every game at first in a league with former major and minor league players, college players and Olympians. Very happy with this mitt. You will be too.

i purchased this glove for my 14 yr old son, the ring finger insert lines up with the stiching ( he can not insert his finger all the way in ) he must push it further towards the pinky- to fit his finger. same when i try it on ... is this normal? we have 7 gloves ... none are like this one. jo
My 12 year old just got this glove a while back and we are trying to get it broke in. The way the glove closes it seems to push the balls out of the glove instead of catching them. I have not seen that before. I even tried to see if it was how he was catching, so I used it myself. Same result. Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be great. Buck
About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
