These gloves feature classic designs with the new and innovative web styles that Mizuno has become known for. The Future series was designed for the next generation of superstars, with all the same features as the pro model! Pros: I just got it in today and it was already broken in! I just threw for 10 min and it fits perfect. I am 15 5'6" and 150lbs and this fits me fine, also this can be used for outfield and infield which is why I boughT it.

Cons: None! Yet...

Pros: Great all around fielding glove, especially for outfield. I took the glove to the Miuzno Steamer, told the trained professional how we wanted it started (break-in). We finished it with Mizuno Strong Oil and mallet. Have been wrapping it with an 11" softball. It was game ready the next day. I had to tighten some of the top finger laces already. My son uses it with 2 fingers (ring and pinky) in the last finger slot. He puts his index finger in the 2nd slot and his middle finger in 3rd slot. This leaves the 1st slot (index finger) open for a huge pocket and easy closing. Leather is wonderful especially after the strong oil.

Cons: Had to move wrist to last position holes which was tough, but manageable.

Pros: This glove is very sturdy AND was quick to break in. My 8 year-old son was confident with this glove the very first day he put it on.

Cons: The only CON is that the wrist strap is adjustable only by removing the laces...velcro or another method would have been a little nicer.

AWESOME YOUTH GLOVE

Pros: Perfect for my 11 old year. He has a infielder's Nakona glove but has been playing a lot of center field. I researched for good outfielders glove (like I do with all gloves and bats). I found this one! It's 12.25" which is a little unconventional but it's perfect (not to small or big). The trapeze web is perfect for catching fly balls with ease. Lastly, the hand is made for a youths hand. He won't be able to wear it after a couple of years, but for now it's perfect. I searched and there is not another glove this size, with a trapeze web and made for a youths hand.

Cons: None

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F Youth? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

is this glove good for a 10 yr old little league outfielder that has some game? ed
This may be a little too big for a 10 year old outfielder. The most common size for a 10 year old who plays the outfield is 11.25 to 11.75 inches.
Sean
Would this glove be good for a 12 year old outfield club ball player? G Bomber
This glove may be just a little big on a 12 year old. The average size outfielders glove for a 12 year old is 11.5 or 11.75 inches.
Brett
Why is this glove considered a youth model? Is the leather of lesser quality than its pro model brother? Hailey
The hand opening and finger stalls will be cut a little smaller to better fit a youth players hand or an older player with smaller hands. This will be higher quality compared to your typical youth glove and will offer excellent durability and performance.
Brett
Would this glove be suitable for a 15 year old - who is small for size? 105 lbs. GG
This glove would work for him, I would just worry about the finger and hand stalls would be to small. This would work for a smaller 15 year old. This will be a great glove for him to use and is easy to break in.
Todd
Would this glove be a good choice for a 12 year old center fielder who is a little bit more advanced? Turbo
Yes, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future 12.25" is a very good glove for outfielders, it has the trapeze web which is designed for outfield play
Sean
CAN THIS GLOVE BE USED BY AN ADULT? I SEE IT SAYS YOUTH ON THE DESCRIPTION JASON
Youth gloves are made for the small hands of children. It likely wouldn't fit.
Linda
how long would it take to ship to illinois and would this fit me im 13 and have medium sized hands your glove coach link told me this would be a good fit will it mav1
It usually takes about 2 business days to ship to Illinois
SA
At 12.25 inch, deep pocket and trapeze web, would you consider this a good outfielders glove for average sized 12 year old. I see it advertised elsewhere as an infielders glove. His infielders glove is 11.25 Rawlings Gold Glove. Would this Mizuno 12.25 be a better fit for outfield play? Thanks. kevinr
Since this is a youth model, it should fit him pretty well. Generally, a 12.25 inch glove is just a little big for a 12 year old, but this model should work well for him in the outfield.
TJ
My nearly 11 year old plays outfield, pitcher, and is a developing corner infielder, mostly 3B. He's 5.2, 108. Your site says 12.25 is the right size. Is this a versatile glove for him, and is the size right? B. Beane
Yes, if he is playing multiple positions then you are going to want to get a 12" or 12.25" glove.
Sean
Please disregard my question on your return policy... I found it on your website. Is this glove too small for a high school player? Hank
The GCP70F youth, is designed for a youth ball player in mind and has a smaller hand and finger stalls. I would recommend an adult glove for anyone in High School.
Michael
You picked the best website out there for pain free ball glove purchasing. We offer the 100 day return, we pay for the shipping for it to come back to us. So if you choose a glove, use it, do what you need to do, to see if it will suit your needs. If not, use our free return label, and send it back, no questions asked. As to this glove for a high school player, this is a youth glove and is pretty small. What position does he play? Give our reps a call and they can make suggestions for similar adult size gloves for him.
Linda
If I am 14 and play outfield would this glove work. I am 5'3" and 110. Joe
Yes, this glove could work for outfield play
Sean
I'm 14 and have a big hand but skinny hands, do you think it would fit? Whiskas
This youth glove has smaller hand slots for youth players or players with smaller hands. It could be a good fit!
Shelbe
is this a good glove for use with outfield/infield for a 15 year old with not so big hands? jeff
This is a youth glove that will fit fairly small. However, if he has below average size hands, it should be a good choice for him in terms of fit and glove size.
Tyler
Is this primarily an outfielders glove? brendan
Yes, the Mizunio Classic Pro Soft Future Series is an outfield glove.
Kara
Does this glove come in 11"? My son is 8yrs. old and has small hands. Would this be a good glove for him? marty
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series is not available in a 11.00". A 12.25" glove is too large for an eight year old. For all of our 11.00" glove check out this link:http://www.justballgloves.com/products/glove%20type~youth/size~11.00/
Kara
I am a 13 yr old with average sized hands, 5ft 5in would this be to small? Giovanni
Yes, any youth model glove will be too small for an average sized 13 year old like yourself. Here is a link to the adult model Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series. http://www.justballgloves.com/products/size~12.75/?s=classic+pro+soft
Tom
I am a 15 year old with a bit small hands, would this fit me and is it good for outfield and pitcher? Jon
A 12.25" is a great size utility glove for a 15 year old who pitches and plays outfield. The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F is a youth model though. It may fit a little tight on a 15 year old.
Tyler
Is this glove's leather as stiff as an A2000? Baseballman
The Wilson A2000 Series will have stiffer leather and have a longer break-in period compared to the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series.
Nick
I am 12 years old and play outfield. Would this fit me well? Gabe
At 12.25", the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F Youth is a great choice for a 12 year old outfielder.
Tyler
Is this a good glove for a U13 pitcher who plays a liitle 2nd base and outfield as well? Not sure if the webbing is good for a pitcher since it is somewhat open. Pdiddy
At 12.25", the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F is a good glove for a 13 year old utility player. Webbing is fine for pitching (but that comes down to the player's personal preference).
Tyler
Will this glove work for a girls fastpitch outfielder using 12 inch balls? My daughter is currently using GCF1151 at 2nd base. Are both gloves basically the same design other than web style and finger length? Or is GCP70F based on a totally different chassis and too small for softball? Coachdad
If you wanted a glove to match the glove she is currently using now, in a larger size, look at this one: Mizuno Classic Fastpitch Series: GCF1201. It will be the 12" model of her current glove. The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F Youth glove will be larger in size at 12.25" but will have smaller finger stalls and wrist opening. This glove will also provide a Six Finger web. This glove will have a deep pocket and could be used for baseball or softball.
Brandon
Would this glove fit better for a 10u fastpitch player or GCF1201 glove? Do you have a better recommendation for that age? matt
In that price range, both the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F, and the Mizuno Classic Fastpitch Series: GCF1201 would work great for a 10u fastpitch player.
Zach
Is this a boys glove or a girls glove? Drew
If you're asking if it's for baseball or softball, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F is most common in baseball because it does not have as large of a pocket as a fastpitch softball glove.
Tyler
Would this glove be to big a 11u player? don
No, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F Youth will be a good size for an 11u player.
Damon
I'm a Freshman in high school. I'm 5' 6", 135 pounds, and I plan on using this glove probably all the way through high school. Would this be a good glove to get? shamar
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F is a Youth glove a features a tighter fit on your hand. Typically, players will move to Adult pattern sizes at about age 12. This glove may be too tight for you hand, or could eventually be too tight. The 12.25" pattern size will also likely feel small toward the end of your high school career. I would recommend a 12.50" or 12.75" model like the GCP79S.
Mac
Would someone who is 5 ft to 5 ft 5 be able to use this glove, or is it too big? Jake
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP70F) is best suited for an outfielder. Typically a 12.25" is used by a 12 year old player.
Kara
My son is playing on a 9u travel team and just moved to center field. He is 4'6 with smaller hands. Will this glove work well after its broken in? Dougie
Yes, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP70F) is a great option for a youth outfielder. You should be able to get multiple season out of this model.
John
I am 13 years old. I am looking at this as a hybrid glove, but a little more on the outfield size. Would this smaller outfield mitt be a good match? Eric
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP70F) would be a youth glove that would be more made to fit a smaller hand than what we would expect for a 13 year old player. The 12.25 inch size would be good as a multi-position glove but the finger stalls and wrist opening would probably be too small.
Patrick
My son is 14 years old, 5'8" and 140 lbs. Is a youth glove too small for him? JDub
It will ultimately depend on the size of the players hand. However, it is more common for a 14 year old to use an adult sized glove. Therefore, more than likely, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: (GCP70F) Youth will not fit him. However, every hand is different, and I would probably suggest trying an adult sized glove first.
Merritt
I am 15, 5'10" and an outfielder. Do you think that this glove would be too small for me? If so, what other glove would you recommend for me? matt
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP70F) is categorized as a Youth glove, so it will feature a smaller wrist opening and shorter finger stalls, with a Youth hand in mind. This model may be too small for your hand. Based on your age and positon, our Glove Coach recommends a 12.50"-12.75" pattern. A great choice to check out would be the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series (GCP81S). Here is a link to that model: http://goo.gl/L3TcyF
Tessa
What is best way to break in this glove without making it floppy? How long is the break-in period for this glove? Will
Unfortunately, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP70F Youth glove is discontinued. However, the 2017 Mizuno Classic Future Pro 12.25" Youth Baseball Glove: GCP71F2 would be a very similar glove. The best way to break in a glove is to use specially designed glove oil. Glove oil keeps the leather 'alive' while providing a softening condition and minimizing weight gain. Apply a small amount of glove oil to a sponge or cloth, then use the sponge or cloth to apply the oil to the areas of the glove that are currently firm. Start with the palm, the break point of the glove and then web. Each glove will have a different break-in period based off how much attention the glove gets.
