Pros: Being only my second glove (Louisville Slugger TPS1301H) I really like this one. Feels great from the beginning and only took one time conditioning and three times training to break it in nicely. Leather looks brown with a slight touch of red, just as if it was made to grab some dirt along with your ball to make it look vintage :-)

Cons: No real possibility to adjust to your hand, luckily fits great onto my hand (5 11, about 145lbs)

Pros: Very nice leather. I got the glove at 4pm and had a game at 7 and it was easy to play with it right out of the box. I have since broken it in and am very happy.

Cons: It is a little wider from the pinky to the thumb than others that I have had but it is nothing that I will not get used to. Really good glove.

Pros: soft ball sticks and aids in fielding--this glove allows me to play errorless infield and outfield in senior over 55 softball--it outperforms much more expensive gloves--it aids confidence

Cons: it did take a few weeks for me to achieve break in

Is this a baseball glove or a slow pitch softball glove? K
It can be used for either. It does feature a deeper than average pocket which would make it a good option for slow pitch softball. It would also work for baseball as well.
Brett
I am considering this glove as well as the Mizuno MVP Prime Series GMVP1277P. Do you recommend one over the other? It is mostly for recreational baseball use. Also, is one a better fit for larger hands? Danno
The OPRO1300 and the GMVP1277P are both high quality gloves at a moderate price. Either would be a good choice for an outfielder.

Hello, I am looking into buying a new glove. I am 14 who will be moving up a league so I expect to primarily be playing the outfield. I hope to later become an infielder. Is there a glove that will be good for both the infield and outfield? I know how to break-in leather in the case that I decide to buy a premium leather glove. Bob
Going with a 12.00" Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series is typically the size players use when playing in both infield and outfield.
Noah
Will this glove be big enough for outfield in slow pitch softball ? lenny baller
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1300 is a 13" model that would be well suited for outfield play.

What do the model numbers mean on the different gloves? (Examples: BK, BG, BN, FGDY14, or FGOS14) Hercules
The model number of a glove is a unique identifier of the glove's Series, pattern size, and typically its color. "FGDY14" indicates that the glove is a part of the Louisville Slugger Dynasty Series while "FGOS14" indicates the glove is one of the Omaha Select models. A few more examples include "BK" (Black), "BG" (Black/Grey), and "BN" (Brown). In most cases the number in the product code also indicates the pattern size of the glove. This is the case with this Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: (OPRO1300) which offers a 13.00" pattern size.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
