The Rival Series is made from USA steer hide that provides for some of the strongest leather in the world. Rival Series gloves are held together with USA tanned rawhide lacing that provides up to 100 lbs of tensile strength for excellent durability. Inside, the Rival features Oasis Lining that is made from super soft cowhide to provide durable and unwavering comfort. Easton's Custom Pro Fit System is also used on these gloves. This patent pending back-of-hand strap gives players a range of customizable fits. This strap is also easily replaceable, and a blank one is included in case players want to personalize it with their name and number! The back of these straps are outfitted with Easton's Bio-Dri moisture management fabric to wick away moisture and keep the glove dry and light. How does this glove's durability/quality compare to Rawlings Gold Glove Gamer? Which breaks in faster? dtroy66

The Rival Series is going to be more durable and a little better quality leather than the Gold Glove series. The Gold Glove series will break in a little faster, but won't be as durable.

I have the "RVFP2000 catchers mitt and I'm looking for a "fastpitch" firstbase mitt in the same Rival series and can't find one. Is the "RVB3000 a baseball series only or both baseball & fastpitch? Thanks Catch

This one is for baseball, though because of the pocket could be broken in to a softball. The only real difference between baseball and fastpitch gloves, fastpitch gloves have smaller finger slots.

I play Adult Men's Slow Pitch softball. Would this glove work for type of league? Chris

This glove is more of a baseball design, but it could certainly be used for softball. All you will need to do is break it in to fit the softball. It has a deep enough pocket that it should work for you just fine!

The Easton Rival Series is a very good glove. The lifetime of a glove can vary. The amount of use of the glove and the care of the glove are several factors that will determine the lifetime of the glove.

The Easton Rival Series: RVB3000 First Base Mitt would be a great selection for a 14 year old playing First Base. I used the Glove Coach Feature on justballgloves.com and came up with a recommended size of 12.50" for a 14 year old. This model is 12.75". It could still work for his needs as long as he doesn't find it too large.
