These gloves are held together by professional grade USA-tanned rawhide lace that is tested to a tensile strength of 100 lbs! That means that the chance of the laces on these gloves breaking is slim to none. This is a glove that will last for many seasons to come. This 12.75 Inch first base mitt features a single post web. Would this mitt be okay to use for fastpitch softball? Is the pocket deep? Patti

The only real issue might be the finger slots being bigger. The pocket will break in around a softball if worked with. We do offer the 100 day guarantee if it doesn't fit.

At 12.75 inches, the Easton EPG35BT may be a little too big for a 12 year old. This size mitt is better suited for a player of 16 years old or older. I would recommend a mitt around 12 to 12.5 inches max.

The Easton Professional Series will feature a higher quality Japanese Soto leather than the leather used in the Easton Rival Series.

was trying to determine difference between this glove (no extended palm) and the 36BW or 38BW (open/cloed back) Can tell me what extended palm is what its purpose? Also if any other diff between 36 & 38 model other than back design & color thank you Sam s sam s

The only difference between the Easton Professional Series: EPG35BT First Base Mitt and the 36BW and38BW is the extended palm. The 36BW and the 38BW are the same with the exception of the webbing. The extended palm will help to keep the ball from popping out of the glove.
