These gloves start out as high quality USA steer hide and are Japanese tanned into professional grade Seto leather. The result is a soft, smooth, and incredibly durable ball glove. The inside of these gloves is made from Pro Fit steer hide which is built soft for comfort, yet strong for the rigors of professional level play. These gloves are held together by professional grade USA-tanned rawhide lace that is tested to a tensile strength of 100 lbs! That means that the chance of the laces on these gloves breaking is slim to none. This is a glove that will last for many seasons to come. This 34.00 Inch catcher's mitt features a two-piece closed web and an extended palm for extra protection. Pros: easton has come a long way. glove quality is vastly better than previous models. once you form the pocket it performs beautifully.

Cons: could use just a little more padding but not a big deal.

Pros: Awesome glove for the price. Has broken in very nicely so far (using a glove mallet AND looking up how to use it correctly on a catcher's mitt helps break in a lot). Great pocket with a nice feel. Web is double laced, which does drastically cut down on any blowouts. A little easier to break in than the previous Easton catcher's mitt I've had, but like any good catcher's mitt it takes a bit of effort. Definitely a glove where you'll be rewarded if you take good care of it during the break in process and do it the right way.

The Easton Professional Series (EPG242B) Catcher's Mitt is a nice model but would be slightly lower quality leather than what is featured on either the A2000 or Heart of the Hide series gloves.
