Description

Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Akadema's ownership attributes an increasing market share to their innovative quality professional product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design that raise the level of play. Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players, but are available for semi pro, college, high school and serious youth players. Akadema's latest glove series is the Akadema Precision Series. The Precision Series uses Precision Kip Leather that is 20% lighter and tighter grained than steer hide. The hides are harvested in Europe and tanned in Japan. Ultimately, the Precision Series design provides the player with a more pliable glove. This allows for easier break-in. The Precision Kip Leather also provides more tensile strength than competing glove lines. This results in a stronger, more durable glove. Akadema: Bring Your "A" Game! Free Shipping!

Pros: High quality. Makes a great medium pocket. Tight fitting, as most Akadema are. Very light. Forms well to the hand.

Cons: You will need to break it in properly. Very stiff - not oil injected. Not a drawback for me.

Pros: OK, here's my review after an entire season with the glove: It is nearly indestructable. Shows very little wear for the serious abuse I give it(I play 3rd). Maintained it's shape. Worked in nicely.

Cons: It takes an old-time break-in. You need to know how to form a pocket, and use the glove in play to break it in. I also used the rounded end of a baseball bat to help start the pocket.

Coach Buttermaker

Pros: Good quality glove for the money, well built, comfortable design. This glove was purchased for my son to use at 3b and he really likes it. He compares it to his Pro Preferred in quality. He likes it because Akadema has more pocket options for this size glove than Rawlings or Wilson and the pocket is much better for IF use.

Cons: His only "con" is that there were not many color options, but how do you go wrong with a black glove? He really likes it.

is this a good outfield glove? md cards
That depends on the age of the player. I recommend our Glove Coach. It's a great tool: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/

Would this work for a 10 year old, 95 pounds, 5 feet tall and average sized hands playing outfield and first base? Donnie
At 12" the Akadema Precision Series: AMO102 is a little larger than average for a 10 year old utility player. A 11.5" or 11.75" glove is more common, but if you want a glove he can use and grow in to, this is a great option.
Tyler
I'm 15 years old about 5'10 and I mostly play outfield and a little bit of 3rd base. Would this glove be okay for me? Alfonso
At 12", the Akadema Precision Series: AMO102 is a great glove for a 15 year old utility player.
Tyler
Will this gloves pocket be deep enough for slow pitch softball? Will it be big enough for infield slow pitch? ch
Although the Akadema Precision Series: AMO102 baseball glove can be used for softball it is made for baseball. A softball glove will have a slightly deeper pocket designed to accommodate the larger size of a softball.
Jeff
How is this glove compared to the Apache glove? Are they similar in stiffness and durability? nate b
The Akadema Precision Series: AMO102 utilizes a Kip Leather which is lighter than the Steerhide Leather used in the Apache. Its initial stiffness will be similar, but will break in faster. In terms of durability, Kip Leather will not last as long as Steerhide Leather.
Kevin S.
What are the best ways to break in this glove? GloveBoy
The Akadema Precision Series: AMO102 is made of Precision Kip leather, so it will be very soft leather. The best way to break it in would be to just play catch with it until it feels right to you.
