Carefully constructed, super-soft two-tone style leather steer hide provides for longevity and easy break-in. The C310 is bound with premium leather lacing ensuring the toughness of this mitt. The felt pocket padding with a cushioned palm pad allows for you to catch all of those fastballs without worrying about bruising your hand. The flat two-piece web provides for easy transfer so you can throw out potential base stealers. The C310 is offered in an open back with conventional leather lacing. Pros: This is a perfect first catcher's mitt for someone 5-7 years old. It's size and flexibility make it very easy for a young player to handle. It is very well made. It didn't take much work to break it in.

Cons: The padding to receive the ball is not very thick. This is fine for young players where ball won't be pitched fast. If your player starts with this and they stick with catching, you'll want to move up once they hit 8 and go with something like the Akadema youth mitt which has more padding. It will take more break-in time and it will be bigger for them to handle, but the padding will be better for older kids.
