A1000 series gloves also feature the patented Dual Welting system that offers a pre-curved finger design that helps maintain a stable and durable pocket. The finger stalls are sewn narrow to fit a female hand more snug. The Dual Welting technology is a patented design used exclusively by Wilson in the United States. My daughter is 12 years old. Plays travel ball and mostly plays 2B/SS and has as a small hand. Right now she plays with Wilson A440 which fits good, but is looking to get a new glove. Any suggestions are great. THANKS!! sp

For a 12 year old fastpitch softball player who plays second and short, a 11.5 to 12 inch glove would be recommended (but a lot of that depends on her personal preference). There are a lot of great options out there, including this glove (the A1000 FP12). A few more to look at are the Mizuno GMVP1155P, Mizuno GMVP1158, Mizuno GMVP1179, Miken MS1134FP, Louisville VK1175, and Mizuno GMVP1209. All of these are similar in quality to the A1000 FP12 and will be a step up from the A440 she's been using.

What factor need to be considered when fitting a 12yo for a new glove. My child plays travel ball and school ball. She practice's 2x's per week. She plays SS and occasionally outfield. coach
