Pros: Must admit, I've always been a Rawlings guy. BUT this glove is changing my mind. Very good construction for a youth glove. It fits my sons hand much better than his previous glove. Overall this is a great glove for the serious youth player.
Cons: None so far! This is stiff out of the box so if you dont want to break it in this is not the glove for you..but spend the time and you'll love it!

Pros: Easy Break in. Well made except for the...
Cons: LACES!!! Web laces broke before the end of first season of use.

Pros: Great Youth Glove! It's built with quality materials compared to most youth gloves. The padding and quality enable my 9 year old to catch hard thrown balls vs shying away from them which he did before with a youth Nike.
Cons: The glove is stiff and requires break in. After 6 months of baseball it's getting better but still has a ways to go. That being the worst thing about the glove, it's still 5-stars and my son loves it!

Pros: Great Glove, fits a 7 to 9 year old well. Great leather for the price. Quality glove for the better younger player. Worth the money.
Cons: Small in size compared to other 11.00" gloves. May not work for the 12 and up youth unless they are looking for a small middle infield glove.

Pros: Great glove! My son has two akademas and loves both. Good leather and keeps shape for long time. Any review of long break in time is testimant to the quality leather. Any dad who has played ball knows that a good glove will take time to break in. This glove also fits the youth hand very well. Do your kids a favor and teach them to have good hands by buying a glove that fits right. My son is ten years old and wears this glove in the infield and he has the best hands on his team. This glove is a steal at $59. Will outgrow before worn out.

Pros: Always was a fan of the Rawlings leather, but purchased this for my 9 year old son. Couldn't be more impressed with the quality. This glove has the look and feel of higher priced gloves.
Cons: Similar to other reviews the glove does take a while to break in, but is well worth it.

Pros: Fits my tiny 7 yr old's hand perfect. Easy break in. He loves his new glove.
Cons: So far nothing.
Bub's Dad
Pros: Very good construction . It will definitely last awhile . The better leather helped my sons confidence on harder throws and hits at him.
Cons: Not the easiest break in but it's a winner once it's ready !

Pros: This is a very well constructed glove and was an excellent choice for my 7 year old player. Initially, my player/son had some difficulty catching with this glove in its somewhat stiff, out of the box condition. However, after several toss sessions (without glove oil or other break in technique), he was able to handle almost any throw. He loves this glove. The glove should perform well and fit him through age 10.
Cons: None.

Pros: AWESOME!!! Very well made, fairly easy to break-in, can seemingly use this glove from 7 to 14 years old. Would highly recomend this glove to any serious (or want to be serious) little leagers!!!
Cons: a bit pricey, hard to find pretty, much only online

Pros: I got a size 11 for my son who just turned 7. The glove is a little big for him but he has no problem controlling it on his had. I believe he will use this for several years and will only get better with more and more usage. Most of all, he loves it.
Cons: Tough to break in
Clint
Pros: Like a lot of people, I was nervous ordering a glove my boy couldn't try on. Glad I went with the reviews because this glove is awesome. Great fit for my 7 yr old with small hands. Fingers can be flared out and maintain form. A nice pocket. Breaking in was a breeze. Steam it (not oven or microwave!), beat it with a mallet, steam and beat it again, then glove conditioner and wrap up with a ball overnight. Boom, game ready in one day.
Cons: None. I imagine he will use this until he is 10 or 11. Well worth the price.

Pros: Very good grade leather. Nice form shape for infielders. Adjustable wrist strap is great for kids. Overall solid glove for ages 8 to 10.
Cons: Taking a little while to break in.
Trinergy
Pros: Top grade leather for a youth glove. Takes a long time to break-in but my 9 year loves it! He is finally given up his LS Genesis. Deep pocket takes some time to get used as most youth gloves have a standard pocket.
Cons: None

what size bat and glove should a avg. 6-7 yr. old use ? Coach
1. What is the lace made out of. My current son's glove the lace is breaking and want to avoid this in the next glove. 2. I'm also looking for an inexpensive glove for my 8yr old he currently has a 10.5 inch and it may be a little small and is worn out. TigerFan
what is the difference between this model and the AJT99 Series? I note that there is a price difference. Also, I live in Hawaii. Can I get free shipping? Carl
Is this glove availible in red or have red accents? Johnny
Is there a best, safe, and fast way to break-in this mitt? My son and I have becoming in patient. His old glove was a soft leather that has become so loose that he has had developed a thumb injury due to the lack of support in his old glove when a hard ball is caught. Is what Clint says in his review a good idea? Johnny
My son has a 10.75 rawlings pro taper, and it's a little heavy and thick/stiff for him to handle comfortably. Is this glove more workable than that one? We've had luck with the cheaper Wilson A450, but the lighter, more workable leather wears out quicker and becomes like a dishrag after a season. Thanks. Greg
About the Brand
In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.
Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!
Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
