Description

Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Akadema's ownership attributes an increasing market share to their innovative quality professional product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design that raise the level of play. Akadema's Prodigy Design Series has quickly gained a reputation as the benchmark in quality and design for serious youth ballplayers. Made with a combination of Akadema's U.S. Steer hide and exclusive AkademaLyte leather, the Prodigy Design Series is both light and durable. Hand-crafted for a quick and easy break-in period, the Prodigy Design Series also uses the Akadema Grasp Clasp Wrist System, making the glove more manageable for today's youth ballplayer. Pros: Soft, great style. Nice size for a ten year old competitive player.

Cons: Stitching is plastic !!! Had part restiched from Akadema. They did it in leather now webbing is cracked and needs to be restitched. Not for competitive play as it is flimsy lacing

is the bag just for gloves ? akadema 4 life
No, not at all. You can use the bag to carry anything you'd like, as long as it fits.

1 of the reviews say that the stitching on this glove is plastic, is this true. My son has tried on a few Mizuno gloves that he really likes. I was curious why none of them were suggested when I went through the glove coach? Thanks Heather
The stitching isn't plastic, but it is a synthetic leather. I'm not sure why the Minzuno's weren't suggested. We'll look into it, but it's possible that they weren't in stock in the size you picked.

Where are Akadema gloves made?My son is 9 and is a good short stop is this glove for him? Riley 1
This glove is made in China, and it would a great glove for a 9 year old SS. A friend of mine bought this exact glove for his 8 year old two years ago, and he is still using it.

Our son has weaker hands and sometimes doesn't get his glove squeezed shut, or if he gets it squeezed the pocket seems to collapse and the ball pops out. It almost seems like the ball gets squeezed out of his glove. He has the Vinci Pro Youth Glove from your site. Do you think this one would be better meet his needs? How does the pocket compare? He is seven and plays shortstop. Meg
I would not recommend this glove for your 7 year old son. This glove is going to be to big for him. I would recommend a 10.00-10.50 youth glove for him. This should help him when trying to keep the ball in the mitt and not having it pop out.

About the Brand

In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.

Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!

Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
