Pros: Nice glove, fits well. 9 Year old likes it.

Cons: Leather is much stiffer than I expected. Been working on breaking. My daughter is bigger than most 9 year olds and still struggles to close the glove. We switched gloves and I had to work to close it too...even after the oil, rolling and banding it. Still a nice glove! Just needs more time to break in.

I'm looking for a glove for my 8 yr old, she plays mostly 2nd and infield but some outfield. Would this be a glove for her? Also which is a better glove and the differences between this glove and the Mizuno GMVP1209? Thanks Fezz

For an 8 year old who primarily plays the infield and some outfield an 11 inch glove is generally recommended. A 12 inch glove may be just a little big for her right now, but it would give her plenty of room to grow into. This glove and the GMVP1208P will be pretty similar. The GMVP1209 is a newer glove that features Parashock padding in the palm that will greatly reduce shock, sting and vibration. The GMVP1208P does not have the Parashock padding. Both are very similar gloves though.

My 9 1/2yr old is moving up a division in softball. She plays catcher & has always just used a regular mitt. I want to find her a catchers glove because I think going up with the older girls, it will be beneficial to have the extra's that come with this. Can you recommend 2 or 3 that are good to choose from. She is a right handed thrower & I believe the softball is a 12" ball. catchers mom

My daughter is a 14yr old Travel Ball Pitcher & her Mizuno MMX122P the operator sd is no longer.. she uses a 12inch & is a right hand thrower & she likes light gloves to pitch.. what do u suggest Trina

I think this would be a good model and size for her to grow into. I wouldn't recommend going any higher in length though.

My daughter is an 8th grader moving up to play high school softball this year, she plays 3rd and needs a new glove what size do you suggest for that position? She is 14 years old at about 5' 8" or 5' 9". I thought a 12" or 12 1/2"? Baby D

Sounds like to me you have a good idea of what your daughter needs. For her height/age/position I think a 12 inch would fit her perfect!

My almost 9 year old is 4'9" and around 75 lbs. She pitches and plays infield. We have a 11" Easton SY11FP right now, and she will use that throughout All Stars this year. Next year she moves up to 10U and a bigger ball. What size glove do you recommend for us to buy now to break in for Fall Ball? We like the MVP Prime Mike

If she is currently using an 11 inch, then a 12 inch sounds like the right size she would need. The Mizuno MVP Prime Fastpitch Series is certainly a great glove to consider for her. It has nice padding, is well made, and has the perfect webbing for the positions she plays.
