Pros: this glove will be good when it is fully broken in, but rht now we use the old cheap glove. great construction of the glove with lots af padding. would recommend this glove to any 9-12yr old

Cons: this glove is not broken in like the video states it would be. My 9yr old can not close the mit at all and the pinkey hole is small with a piece of leather in an abrasive spot. We've put some dowel rods in the finger holes to widen them up and tightly wrapped the glove in multiple directions to losen it up. still really, really stiff. it will end up being a good glove that should last for a few years.

Pros: My daughter is an 11-year-old lefty who weighs all of 68 pounds. The problem is that the few lefty gloves designed for girls of this size are not exactly high quality gloves, and the high quality gloves that are made are too big and heavy. After a good deal of searching, we found this one, and it is perfect in all respects. She loves it!

Pros: Awesome glove! Bought this for our 8 year old pitcher. We had trouble finding something nicer than a starter cheapy glove but small enough to fit a young girl. After just a bit of break in, she has no problem squeezing it closed and she is loving it. Since this same glove is made in multiple sizes, I would consider purchasing it for myself as well.

Cons: It does not have a velcro or adjustable closure since it's a serious glove. That would be the ONLY con I can think of if purchasing it for a young girl. That being said, my daughter has not had a problem keeping it on even though she was worried at first.

does model GMVP1155P have a smaller hand opening, finger stalls for my 10 yr old girl. such as the akedema's. dan
That is correct. This glove is manufactured with a smaller hand opening and smaller finger stalls to fit a smaller hand. This would be a good option for your daughter.

The new NHFS softball rules 2011 contain wording regarding optic yellow markings on gloves which make this glove questionable. My daughter loves hers and she needs a new one but I'm concerned it will be thrown out by umpires. Does Mizuno have any comment on this issue? She needs a new one and I want to buy it but I'm concerned. Thanks! Ray
The optic yellow mark you speak of refers to the actual softball used in High School fastpitch games. This mark is only required on the balls used in play, gloves do not require any such marking.

Why doesnt the GMVP1155P have the index finger slot like the other sizes have?My daughter plays with the GPP1154.We want to upgrade,but she likes the finger slot. foss
Basically, it was made without the finger slot to give a different option to players with different preferences. Unfortunately, in 11.5 inch models, Mizuno does not have any other gloves with the finger slot besides the GPP1154. If you move up a quarter of an inch to an 11.75 inch glove, there is a good glove made by Mizuno with a finger slot (model GCF1175).

My daughter is 8, will be 9 in Feb., and is tall for her age. She has played 3 seasons and will probably play on a select team in the Spring. She currently plays third base with an 11" glove, but wants a new, bigger one. What size would you recommend? James
Well, for 9 and 10 year olds playing third base in fastpitch softball, a glove between 11 and 11.5 inches is generally recommended. If she wants a bigger glove than the one she's using now, I would go with a 11.25 or 11.5 inch model.

Mydaughter is almost 12. She has a small hand and has trouble keeping her size 12 glove on her hand. She is always pushing it on. What should I do. She plays in 12u with the bigger ball and also plays middle school ball. bumper
You may want to try a glove that has an adjustable strap at the wrist. GMVP1158 may be a glove that will be more comfortable for you daughter.
