The size of catchers mitt that the player should be using is based less on size of the player and more on their preference. Some catchers like a bigger pocket and some like smaller ones. The 32.5 inch pocket on the Wilson Pro Soft Yak Series (A1500BBPUDGE) is a fairly average size.

The Wilson Pro Soft Yak Series (A1500BBPUDGE) will not have the same quality of leather that is used on some of the other models of the PUDGE catcher's mitt. The A2000 and A2K Models will use a higher quality of leather.

The Wilson Pro Soft Yak Series (A1500BBPUDGE Catcher's Mitt) does feature a 2x palm construction which is essentially a double-layer of leather in the palm for additional padding. The glove will be able to handle 75-85 MPH pitching with no problem. If you potentially could be facing pitching on the upper ends of those speeds, I would recommend looking at a mitt with stiffer (higher grade) leather such as the Rawlings Heart Of The Hide Dual Core Series (PROCM33DCB Catcher's Mitt).
