Great glove! J Coach

Pros: Same pattern as the A2000 at a much lower cost. Ideal for serious travel players 11U and older. Broke in absolutely perfect! Stiff enough to perform at a higher level of play yet easy enough for a 10-11 year old to break in w/o much trouble.

Cons: Absolutely zero cons for the cost! Borderline pro level glove for less than half the price.

Would this fit a 10 year old hand? He plays OF and 3B. MIKE
The Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB191787 could fit a 10 year old hand is a good size for a utility type player.
Cameron
Could this glove be used for an 11 year old that pitches and utility glove? Cole
The Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB191787 would be a great utility glove for an 11 year old.
Max
My son is a 11 year old short stop and weights 65lb. He currently uses a 11.5 and needing a new one. Would this glove be too big? Ryan howard
If your player is comfortable with an 11.5" model, the jump to the 11.75" Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB191787 is not unreasonable. You do want to be cognizant of the increase in size as 11.75" is a common glove size of high school and college shortstop gloves.
Tyler
Would this fit an 8 year old? He currently has a youth pro taper fit by Rawlings. John H
The Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB191787 would most likely be a little big for an 8 year old player, both in terms of fit and size overall. For that age, I would suggest something like the Wilson A1000 11.25" Pedroia Fit Baseball Glove: WTA10RB19PF88.
Logan
Will this glove fit a adult man hand size M/L? Randy
The Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB191787 would not fit on an adult male hand. This glove is better suited for a player 12 or younger.
Cameron
My daughter currently plays 10U travel fastpitch. She plays SS/3B and pitches using the Rawlings R9 Series 11.75 R9205-4BSG but sadly that glove is starting to break down after a year plus of near constant use. She likes both the Rawlings Heart of the Hide R2G 11.75 PROR205-4BC and the Wilson A1000 11.75 WTA10RB191787. With the obvious difference of cost, how would these gloves compare in terms of fit, pocket depth/shape and durability? Matt
From my experience, Rawlings gloves typically have a slightly larger fit (wrist opening/finger stalls) than do Wilson gloves initially, but both will loosen up and fit better/become more comfortable through regular use, so there is not a big difference there. Durability wise, the Rawlings Heart of the Hide should last longer than the A1000 since it is made of higher quality leather, which is the biggest reason for the price difference. The Rawlings gloves I have owned had a slightly shallower but wider pocket, while the Wilson's had a deeper but slightly narrower pocket. Keep in mind these are baseball gloves, not softball gloves, so the pockets will be designed to catch a baseball, not a larger softball,
Kyle
Does this glove have the Pedroia fit? If not how does it compare with the Pedroia fit A1000 gloves? Mike D
This particular model is not considered a Pedroia fit. An A1000 Pedroia fit would have a slightly larger wrist opening and finger stalls as the A1000 is considered a youth model. Think ages 10-14 for the Pedroia depending on hand size, while the standard A1000 is probably more for ages 7-12 or so, again depending on hand size.
Kyle
My boy plays 10U, has a smaller hand and plays OF. It's time for a new glove. Is this set up for a youth wrist opening? Rod
I would consider this glove more of an intermediate fit, intending for the age 9-13 range depending on hand size. It is a very good utility model and pattern for that age that can work for all positions.
Kyle
My sons coach told him to break it in playing catch. If he uses it a few hours every day to practice - how long should it take to break in? Weeks? Months? (I'm asking because his current glove is falling apart.) TRACY ISHII
This model should only take a couple weeks or slightly more to break in if practiced with every day.
Kyle
Do the a1000 fit the same as a2000? Larry
Yes, the Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove (WTA10RB191787) will fit the same as the Wilson A2000 11.75" Baseball Glove (WTA20RB201787).
Bri
Would this glove fit an XL adult hand? My palm width is approximately 4 inches (from index finger to little finger). The Pedroia models would be too small in terms of wrist opening. Tony Wilson
For someone with a larger hand, the Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB191787 would most likely fit as it features a conventional backing and normal wrist opening.
Cameron
Is this a YOUTH glove? Darwin
Yes this Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB191787 is a youth glove model.
Ryan
Why is this glove listed under youth gloves, but comes as adult size? lamar lane
Due to the leather quality on the Wilson A1000 11.75" Baseball Glove: WTA10RB191787 we would recommend this glove more for those players between the ages of 11-14. Although the hand fitting might work for older players, the leather quality and padding is not going to hold up well for a high school or college age infielder; since the glove is an 11.75 inch pattern, it is best used on the infield for an older player.
