Pros: This glove is amazing for youth catchers. It’s small and light so u can move it quicker but still very stiff. I was reading one of the other reviews and they said there was to thick padding. They aren’t wrong the padding is thick, but there is a very easy solution. If you put glove conditioner in the pocket of the glove and use a mallot to break it in it should get much easier to close and it provides a deeper pocket.

Can’t beat it for the price Steve Parent

Pros: Price. My son wanted to start catching. He’s on the small side, so I needed a glove that would be suitable for his hand size. This one works without breaking the bank.

Cons: Takes some time to break it in, but it’s a catcher’s mitt.

Pros: Very well made, very thick padding.. see below. Beautiful color (red/black stitching) cool UA logo (rubberized) The glove LOOKS awesome, feels awesome.

Cons: The glove is very thick in the padding. As in so thick you can't close it, even a 42 year old man is having a hard time. For a youth player this is not a good thing even if broken in. The padding is just too much.

Pros: Amazing glove. Fit and finish are superior to any other youth catcher mitt i've come across. The finger stalls are nice and snug for smaller youth players, and so far the glove is breaking in nicely. The weight is outstanding as it's really light, making easy to maneuver for my 9 year old. This glove weight approx 4.5oz less than the CM1100 pro from all star, but weighs the exact same as the Nokona S2. The pocket on the Under Armor is about 1/2" deeper than the All Star, and roughly the same width, although the All Star is slightly longer than the Under Armor. Overall, excellent glove and look forward to seeing how the glove performs on down the road.

Cons: If you have slightly bigger hands, this glove is going to be tight on your hand. It's really made for smaller youth, probably in the 7-11 range. Only gripe i have is the lace on the bottom by the heel of the glove was tied in a knot, instead of being laced back through down the side. It was very distracting.

Whether the Under Armour Deception Series Youth Catchers Mitt (UACM-200Y) would be a good size would depend on the player's hand size rather than the height of the player. If he has bigger hands that are closer to what an adult male's size would be, this glove would be too tight of a fit for him. If he has smaller hands, this could be a good fit.

How would you compare the leather from this glove to the Rawlings HOH, Heritage Pro, and Nokona Catchers models? FMINUS

This Under Armour Deception Series Youth Catchers Mitt (UACM-200Y) will feature Steerhide Leather that creates a solid mitt, but is lower in quality than what will be received in the Heart of the Hide and Nokona Catcher's mitts. However, the leather quality found in a Heritage Pro mitt would be very comparable to the leather on this Deception mitt.
