Description

Shoeless Joe Joe Junior 10" Youth Baseball Glove: 1000JRIW

Shoeless Joe Gloves give a player the quality, feel, and style of the gloves used by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models used in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series, today's models in the Professional Model Series, or youth gloves with the Joe Junior Series.

Glove Benefits

Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the glove with a beaten up and "Game Worn" look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it its own unique features. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. A great play is lived only once, but your glove, you'll keep it forever. If you end a game with a clean uniform our gloves are not for you. Shoeless Joe: When It Was Just a Game. Free Shipping!

Pros: High quality glove that was already broken in to be used by a young player. My seven year old is able to catch much better with it than he was with a less expensive glove that he could not open and close easily. Great glove for a competitive young player.

Cons: None.

CT

Pros: The quality of the glove is outstanding. The glove is well constructed and the leather is very soft.

Cons: The inside of the glove is a little too large for my 7 yr old son. He needs to where a batting glove in order to get a snugger fit. Not a con but more of a downside for smaller kids given that this is a youth glove.

Pros: My 6 year old has been using this glove since he was 4. He has been able to easily open and close the glove since day one and it has only gotten better with each season.

Cons: None

Pros: Really like this glove for a young player wanting to transition into competitive ball. Great fit on smaller hand and high quality feel. Small size promotes proper technique.

Cons: Went through several cheap starter gloves before I found this one.

EH

Pros: Excellent quality glove for a youth player. My 6 year old son has been able to use this glove with no issues regarding the size. Great glove for a young player that is looking to begin competitive play. Spend a little extra money and get a better quality glove, it is well worth the investment.

Cons: This glove takes a little while to break in correctly. The leather is a much higher quality and softer leather, but the heel of the glove takes some time to open up easily for a youth player. Once you get the leather to soften and close easily, the glove is an excellent choice for a youth glove.

Pros: pure quality. my son loves it; has this glove on way too much honestly. the smell of this glove is worth 10 times the price by the way.

Cons: none

Best decision you could make for your 4-6 year old CW parent

Pros: Amazing glove, real old time baseball, light for him to use, broke it perfect, a bit flimsy but no complaints. Id do this over again for sure. The first glove had better and deeper dark coloring. The second glove had the light brown i dont like as well. So far Iv purchased one for each boy as their first mitt, and got myself a catcher mitt and just ordered a 12.50 professional IWEb.

Cons: outgrew too quickly. My oldest was very advanced so, he moved up quickly to older leagues and i think at that point at 7 playing with 8-10 he needed a stronger glove playing first and pitching. We got 2 great seasons out of it.

Pros: This is a fantastic glove. This glove is truly game ready. Very well made and seems like it should last through several more kids.

Cons: The glove is heavy because of the quality of the materials used. The hand fit is a little large for my 4 year old.

To big Bill Fulton Coach

Pros: Great quality. Easy break in.

Cons: Glove size is good. The inside of the glove is to big for a 6-8 year olds hand. Keeps falling off my 7-8 year olds hand. And he is the tallest kid in his class. I bought this glove for him when he was 6, and he is now eight and he went to try the glove on again and it's still to big.

Great Youth Glove Jeremy Snow Parent

Pros: Great feel, it’s ready to go right out of the bag, Top quality leather and padding, I would highly recommend for beginners, Easy to catch balls.

Cons: I think it’s a tad bit small for my 10 year old but he loves it and does great. Would like larger gloves for some older youth kids

the opening of glove is too big saul paz Parent

Pros: the leather is awesome, easy to break in

Cons: the opening of the glove where the hand goes in, is way to big for my 7 year old the glove fall off every time they throw the ball, has a very difficult time catching, he has to wear his batting gloves to help him catch and even then the glove falls off.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior 10" Youth Baseball Glove: 1000JRIW? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My son plays short stop and is a small 5 year old going to be 6. He is currently using a 10" glove right now. Do you guys recommend I get him the 9" model inch instead? Rick
To get your 5 (soon to be 6) year old a glove that would last him a while, I would recommend going with this Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (1000JRIW Youth) that will have a 10" length. I just afraid a 9" glove won't last your player very long.
Ben
12 year old plays short stop. What size should he use? Opa
For his age and position, we recommend an 11" size glove.
Angelique
I ordered this glove for my 8 year. old. His current glove is a little small for him and I just looked at his current glove and it says T-ball, but it also says 10". I'm worried that the Shoeless Joe glove won't be big enough. Is a T-ball 10" smaller than a youth 10"? CJ
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (1000JRIW Youth) and the t-ball glove will be similar in size. I would recommend going up either a 1/2" or a full 1" to get something that will work for your son.
Jake
My kid plays 50+ games a year. How does this glove compare to a Mizuno Prospect of equal size? Colby
This Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (1000JRIW Youth) will feature higher quality leather than what will be featured on a Mizuno Prospect model of the same size. I am thinking that this Joe Junior model will be able to hold up better to the demands of a player participating in 50+ games a season.
Ben
My son is gonna be 6 and last year really got in to playing in his coach pitch league but need to get him a better glove would this be a good choice? Jason
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth would be a good upgrade for his age and level of play, with the 10 inch pattern being a good match for his size.
Linsey
My son is 7 and has the 9". I plan on giving that glove to his 6 year old brother. Would this be the glove you would recommend? baseball dad
If you are looking for a bigger option within Shoeless Joe lineup the natural progression for a 7 year old would be the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth.
Cameron
My son is 12. Which one would be the best for his age? He is a small 12 year old. ethan
For a player that is 12 we would not recommend the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth as this is a 10.00 inch pattern. A better option would be the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1150IW but this glove will also feature a wrist opening and finger stall fit for an adult hand.
Cameron
My player is 9 years old and normally plays second, but he also plays center. He has a 11.5" and I feel it is too big for his hand. Is a 10" glove good for a 9 year old? Mossie
For a 9 year old that is playing a variety of positions (infield and outfield), I would probably recommend going with an 11" mitt over a 10" mitt like this Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (1000JRIW Youth). The 10" mitt would be a little small in my opinion. I might recommend a mitt like the Rawlings Gamer Youth Pro Taper 11" Baseball Glove (GYPT1-1B).
Ben
My son is 6 years old and is moving from tee ball (he is a lefty thrower). Which glove size do you think will be best: (9" or 10")? Ivan
Generally, we suggest a mitt around 10" for a 6 year old player. This Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (1000JRIW Youth) has a 10" length and would be something for consideration for your player.
Ben
Can you please tell me how much this glove weighs? It seems like the higher quality full leather gloves weigh more than the synthetic. I was looking at the Nokona 10.5' youth glove but it weighs about 450g or almost 1 pound and I"m afraid that my soon to be 7 year old soon will find it too heavy to handle as that"s almost twice the weight of a Mizuno Prospect that size. Schven
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth weighs approximately 355 g.
Logan
My son is currently 5 years old and will be 6 in December. Would you recommend this model or the 9 inch Shoeless Joe glove? Playing second season of modified TBall this spring. Adam
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth would be a great option for your soon to be 6 year and would allow for some growth because of the little bit extra reach compared to that of the 9'' model.
Max
Do you offer personalized gloves? I would like I have my son's name embroidered on the glove. Please let me know if that is possible. Alyssa
We do not have any way of customizing the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth gloves. To do something like this one would need to visit with a local embroidery shop.
Cameron
I have a small 6 year old, would you recommend the 9" or the 10"? He'll be 7 in June. Jason
Based on your player's age, we would recommend looking into a 10 inch model. The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth would be a good one to consider then as this glove is a 10 inch model.
Cameron
What size is the glove? Jaime Getz
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth is a 10'' glove.
Tori
My son currently uses youth 11 inch. He is going to be 6 yrs old. Would you recommend this size for him? He plays infield. Meri
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth would be a good option to consider for a 6 year old player. A good size glove for a 6 year old ranges from 9.50-10.50 inches.
Cameron
Does this glove have the warning of the California 65 containing certain chemicals that may cause cancer? Barbara Dolce
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth does not feature anything concerning this.
Cameron
I know this glove is meant for baseball but would it work for my 6 year old daughter starting softball? The softball gloves seem so large. She will be playing in the outfield. Cassie
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth might work for a 6 year old girl playing softball. It would come down to the size of the ball being used and how well it fits in the pocket of the glove. If you wanted a little more confidence in the purchase, I would recommend buying this glove with Glove Assurance. Glove Assurance is only $29.99 additional to the cost of the glove. With the Glove Assurance, you'll be getting a 100 day trial period. If you decide the glove is not for you within that 100 day period, you can return it for a full refund.
Cameron
Is the binding on this glove leather or synthetic? Andy
The bindings on this Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (1000JRIW) are made with the same tobacco leather used to make the glove.
Frank
My son will be 8 this season. He will play all positions. I love the look of the Shoeless 10 inch models but I have a feeling it might be a bit small for the next year or two. What do you recommend? Do you carry a 10.5 inch? Doug
We would agree that an 8 year old would outgrow the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 1000JRIW Youth in short order. Unfortunately the Joe Junior Series does not extend beyond the 10 inch size. To get a bit more use out of a glove, we would recommend between 10.50-11.25.
Cameron
My 9 year old son is already 5’2", but he’s an inexperienced player, as he’s had an injury and has been unable to play for the past three years. Is this a good option for him or should I look for a larger glove? Sara
We would recommend a larger glove for a 9 year old player, around 11.00-11.25. Thus, the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior 10" Youth Baseball Glove: 1000JRIW would not be a great fit.
Cameron
In what country is the glove made? Steve
To the best of our knowledge, the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior 10" Youth Baseball Glove: 1000JRIW is made in Mexico.
Cameron
Hi! My son is going to be four at the end of the month. I would love to get him his first baseball glove...would you recommend a 9" glove? Thank you! Bhakti
Yes anywhere from a 9'' to a 10'' glove should work fine for that age!
Ryan
Grandson turns 10 in June. This would be his first good glove. Would this be a good choice? Where is the glove made? Tom Rerucha
To the best of our knowledge, the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior 10" Youth Baseball Glove: 1000JRIW is made in Mexico. For a 10 year old, we would recommend getting a larger glove at 11.00-11.25 inches.
Cameron
Need a glove for a first year machine pitch softball girl. She's small for her age but quite athletic. Would this be a good choice? If not, please recommend. Billy Burdett
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior 10" Youth Baseball Glove: 1000JRIW would be a good option for a youth player up to about 7 years of age. If the player is 7 or younger then this glove would be a great model to consider!
