Pros: Best glove I've seen or put on my hand. Perfect for any position. I play short and outfield in men's softball. This glove is AWESOME! Nearly broke in out of the box.

Cons: Absolutely none, some say it's expensive, but this is one of those things that you get what you pay for.

Great Glove Pipes

Pros: I originally ordered this glove in right hand thrower for $227.99 the one in good condition. Upon receiving the glove had glove conditioner thick around laces. Made this glove not appealing, so sent back. I then ordered the glove as a new one and what a difference. The most awesome glove out there is absolutely no need to do anything except put it on and play. My daughter playing 12u travel ball now has the x2-v1250 fast pitch series and says its the best glove she has ever had. This is one you need to learn how to take care of and it will be with you a long time.

Cons: Nokona should give us all a Nokona glove bag. Would be great advertising. Awesome glove.

Amazing and Made in USA Debbie other

Pros: I purchased this glove for my boyfriend who plays Senior Softball. He's left handed. He did all the research and chose the Nokona. When I gave him his glove he turned into a little boy playing with his ball and glove on the sofa. He decided he also wanted the Nokona Oil to break-in and protect the leather. He is thrilled and he says hos catching has improved. There are 7 Senior teams in his league and his team is now in lead with 7 wins and two losses. He did not have his glove during the two losses.

Cons: None

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Nokona X2 Buckaroo 13" Slow Pitch Softball Glove: X2-1300? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference between this glove and the Classic Walnut Softball Series Glove? mikey
The Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2-1300) features a 13.00 inch pattern as well as a blend of Nokona's American Steerhide and Kangaroo skin. The Kangaroo skin is very light weight, strong and incredibly flexible which allows for a quicker break in period. The Steerhide provides the long-term structure and durability for that model. The Nokona Classic Walnut Softball Series (WS-1300) features a similar 13.00 inch pattern as well as the Classic Walnut leather. This leather is fairly stiff and will require an extensive break in period. However, it will keep it's long-term structure and durability fairly well.
Joe
Is there sufficient padding in palm? Tha donski
The Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2-1300) has the Nolera Composite Padding System for added protection!
Damon
What color is the glove and is it a good fit for a petite woman? Cher
The Nokona X2 Elite Slow Pitch Series (X2-1300) is going to be designed for use in mens slow pitch softball. So unless the woman has larger than average hands I would not recommend this particular glove. The color of this glove is going to be an extremely dark brown. A good Nakona glove that I would recommend for a female would be the Nokona Buckaroo Black Fastpitch Series (BF1300CBLK). It is not going to look exactly the same, but it will be similar in style. It will have a little bit more of a lighter brown on some of it. They will both be the same length and feature that same web style. Most importantly it will feature a smaller hand fit that will fit a female much better than this glove.
Carter
Because the glove comes game-ready does this shorten the life span of the glove? Tank3B
The game-ready feel on this Nokona X2 Buckaroo Slow Pitch Series (X2-1300) should not take away from the life span of the glove. If the combination of Stampede and Kangaroo Leather is cared for correctly, then this glove should be able to last for many seasons of use.
Ben
How is this mitt adjusted at the wrist? Ashley
The Nokona X2 Buckaroo Slow Pitch Series (X2-1300) comes with a conventional open back that can be re-laced for a tighter or looser fit at the wrist.
Taylor
What's the weight? I says 770 grams but that can't be grams. 1134
The Nokona X2 Buckaroo Slow Pitch Series: (X2-1300) features Kangaroo Leather which is one of the toughest leathers in the world, yet very lightweight. This glove weighs approximately 770g or 1.69lbs.
Dan
I'm trying to decide between the X2-1300C or the WS-1350C. I am an outfielder in slow pitch. Any thoughts? Rick
The Nokona X2 Buckaroo (X2-1300) model will be slightly lighter and is made of higher quality leather than the Nokona Class Walnut (WS-1350C).
Kyle J.
Does it come in 14" to be used for shortstop or first base, left hand thrower? Gordon Knapp
At the time of this posting, we do not have a 14" model of the Nokona X2 Buckaroo. A model you may want to consider will be a Nokona X2 Elite 13.5" Slow Pitch Softball Glove: X2-1350C.
Daveron

About the Brand

Joe Phillips writes about his visit to Nokona. It was like sitting in at the plantation party in Gone with the Wind or maybe gazing from the grandstand at the “Field of Dreams” while the Black Sox players tried to work out their idled muscle kinks. And, I was gently reminded by the lines in that movie while I dug into a delicious plate of North Texas barbecue: “threshing crews eating at outdoor tables. It continually reminds us of what once was, like an Indian-head penny in a handful of new coins. . . You talk a good dream.” And here I was. . . graciously invited into this magical and charming “Field of Glove-Making Dreams” in former Comanche Indian land at Nocona, Texas. It was a warm August evening, basked in a golden harvest moon, while friends and the Nokona family paid its kindly southern regards to two of their own and two of America’s finest but relatively obscure glove makers, Bobby Storey and Elvin Ray “Ab” Lemons. You see, the pair had just completed fifty years of time-honored employment with Nocona Athletic Goods, the last of the all-American made ball glove company's. The occasion brought echoes of past successes and human contentment, but in Nocona today you still experience much the same American texture of yesterday and perhaps a glimpse into tomorrow as well.

The two stately gentlemen were being honored in a way that could have taken place in the same manner when they first reported for full-time work at Nokona, in 1952, or back even earlier, in 1933 when the company started making sports equipment. During a brief and informal presentation at the celebration, Nokona’s new sales manager called the two glove makers “Legends - because that’s what their ball gloves stood for, American know-how and pride taken in a best-made product.”

A man of few words but a marveled craftsman who could literally conjure a sows ear into a playable baseball mitt, Mr. Lemons got up and fondly recalled the several men he worked with through his half-century and of the training that had been passed along to him from his old bosses.

His counter part and just as talented, Bobby Storey, had filled in at just about every job at Nokona. Bobby, the son of the sporting goods founder, R.E. “Bob” Storey had most recently served as president and now chairman of the board of Nokona. Though past retirement age like Mr. Lemons, he’s now serving at one of his favorite roles, that of ball glove designer.

At a time for employment in this country when five years is considered a long tenure with the same company, Ab and Bobby are not even the first to complete a half-century journey with Nocona Athletics. The now deceased Jewell Brickey, hit that milestone in 1993, after joining the company during World War II. That’s the kind of devotion that employees forge into this glove-making outfit. A devoted and sustained tenure here is not rare. Last year the company advertising, displayed along with Storey and Lemons, three other employees who had garnered 40 years with Nokona, Warren Clary, Bud Meekins, and Melvin Weedin.“

I don’t have to tell you that the one constant through all the years has been baseball”, wrote W.P. Kinsella. And the most constant of ball glove makers has been Nokona, and the men and women there who keep alive the tradition of American craftsmanship of ball glove making. The spirit of glove-making is still alive and well in Nocona, Texas.
