Description

There is a place called Nocona, Texas where the best American made ball gloves have been designed and handcrafted since 1934. The people of this small town have dedicated their lives to give the world a piece of baseball history. This glove is part of their legacy. The Tribal Series glove from Nokona is constructed from a full cowhide shell that is soft to the touch with rugged durability. The moment you take a Nokona glove out of the box, you'll immediately notice the soft yet stiff feel that is the trademark of a high quality glove. You'll know that once this glove is broken in, it'll be one that is going to last for years to come. The Tribal Series cowhide is uniquely tanned to give it a blood red color with the sturdiness and comfort that top ball players demand. This model features a I-web design, and with a medium sized pocket, it is perfect for infielders. The conventional open back on the Tribal Series allows players to have more flexibility and breathability for their hand. This 11.50 model runs a bit small, but after breaking it in players should expect a prime fitting glove. Nokona: American Made for American Played! Free Shipping!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Nokona Tribal Series: AMG1150TRI? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would this glove be good for a hs second baseman? bballplayer
I think this would be an excellent option for a High School second baseman. It's style and size make it a good infield glove.
Sean
I have a 6 year old that throws and catches with either hand. He prefers to bat lefty and throws right because I gave him a right handed glove. I want him to find his own way. any suggestions. also do you have suggestion on size when he decides which hand he wants to use? Garrison
An average size for 6 and 7 year olds would be a 10 to 10.5 inch glove. So much of picking out the right glove comes down to the preferrence of the player. Vinci Pro, Wilson and Rawlings all make great gloves in the sizes I mentioned above.
Brett
y would u get him such a nice mit? hes six
jopa
when will it be game ready Lshot#9
No, it will take some break in before it will be ready to play with.
Mark
would this glove be good for an 11, 12 year old that plays SS and, 3B dibar
Yes, this would be a good glove for someone that age and playing those positions. This glove is made for an infielder. Most infield gloves are between 11.00-11.50.
Brett
im very interested in purchasing this glove, but in reading reviews on other nokona gloves, ive heard reports that they get floppy and lose form fairly quickly. i do like a nicely broken in glove but i like a nice maintained pocket as the glove ages. do you know how well this glove ages and if i should take precautions in maintaining it? luke
This glove will age very well, the precautions I would take to maintain this glove is to make sure it is out of the elements, excessive rain and sun will do damage to the glove. It is also important to properly break in the glove, shaving cream and other quick break in methods will deteriorate the leather.
Sean
would this glove be good for a high school short stop/2nd&3rd base? and i like the way a 11.25 glove feels. would it do the job? highschoolbaseballplayer
This glove would work great for the infield. Most infield gloves are 11.00-11.50 inches. This one would work great at all positions.
Brett
Good for a hs shortstop? jewis man
I think this would be an excellent option for a high school shortstop. It's style and size make it a good infield glove.
Brett
Is the inside of this glove leather? none
Yes, this inside of this glove is going to be leather. This glove uses cowhide leather and full grain lacing.
Brett
would this be a good glove for a 13-14 year old who plays 3rd, SS and pitcher? CTOM
I would recommend this glove for the infield. This glove would be on that is going to last and be able to be used at any position in the infield. Most infield gloves are 11.00-11.50. Most outfield gloves are 12.00-12.50.
Brett
would it work well for a 11-12 3rd basemen calosa
Yes, this would be a very good glove for a 3rd baseman. Most infields use 11.00-11.50 inch gloves.
Brett
im about to play highschool ball and im thinking about getting this glove or the Nokona Tribal Series: AMG1200TRMT, which one would be better for 2nd/SS? bubba
The Nokona Tribal Series gloves fit a little smaller than advertised. The 12 inch model will fit more like a 11.5 or 11.75 inch glove. The 11.5 inch model will fit more like 11.25 inch glove. It really depends on your preference. If you prefer a slightly smaller than average glove, go with the AMG1150TRI.
JH
how much does this glove actually get shortened by? tripleking
This glove is going to be shorter by a quarter of an inch then the advertised listing.
Brett
How is the palm padding in this glove? Jeff
The padding in this glove works really well. This is one of the Nokona gloves that has a little extra padding in the palm of the glove. You will be happy with the padding in this glove and it should last you a long time.
Brett
when it says this mitt runs slightly smaller than advertised how much smaller does this really mean? if i were to get an 11.75 would it turn out to be 11.5? libaseball
That's about right. The Tribal series runs about a quarter of an inch smaller than advertised. A 11.5" will fit more like a 11.25".
Brett
what would you recommend for a highschool 2nd basemen this glove or the wilson a 2000 superskin 11.5 with h web bjl
Both gloves are high quality leather and are good for infielders. The superskin is going to be a little bit lighter than the Nokona. The Nokona's do tend to run a little small as well.
K.B.
does it hold up through two seasons chad
It should, with normal care and play.
Linda
My son is playing second base at a community college and he needs to have a smaller glove than the one he is using now which is 12 in. nokona, do u think this glove is good glove for college level play. MarkN
Yes,it is the top of the line Nokona glove. Since they do run small, a smaller size would be great for an infield player.
