Pros: This glove is probably the greatest glove I have ever used. I have now used it for a full year, not only is it still perfectly broken in but it has still maintained its shape similar to that of when I first got it. all my teamates want to use it. If you are a person who will take extremely good care of a glove- Then this is the glove for you.

Cons: If you are a person who throws around their glove, this probably isn't the glove for you. I have seen this glove fall into a pancake when its mistreated.

Pros: After oiling the leather is awesome. The flare doesn't do much, but it looks cool. The lacing is very good. Very good leather, don't know what they mean by soft.

Cons: Get the mesh model for 80 dollars less.

Pros: good leather and forms well. Ive used it for a couple games. Its decent.

Cons: too stiff in the palm. Hard ground ball sometimes will just pop out if it hits the palm. I recommend a Wilson a2000 or a2k.

Cons: nothing really

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger TPX Pro Flare Series: FL1175CC? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Which web is best for a third baseman a h web, i web, or modified trap? Glove man
It honestly comes down to the personal preference of the player. Typically, open web gloves liek the H and I web, tend to trap the ball a little better and work great for a thrid baseman. I've seen third basemen have success with a variety of different gloves with different webs.
John
I'm a high school 3rd baseman, currently using a 12" glove but I feel like it is a bit too big and a bit too heavy. whould this be the solution? Junior
I think this glove would suit you well. On average, High School age third basemen will use a glove around 11.5 or 11.75 inches. The FL1175CC would be a great option for a third baseman.
Brett
Is there a difference between this model and the Louisville Slugger TPX Pro Flare Series FL1175C? Which model would you recommend? Pinkbro
The FL1175CC replaced the FL1175C, that being said there is not going to be a huge difference between the gloves other than the different color patterns

How does this glove compare to the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Flare Series: OFL1200? Cos i have the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Flare Series: OFL1200 and I am considering to change it since it is pretty old. Is this model better compared to the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Flare Series: OFL1200? Because the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Flare Series: OFL1200 fits smaller then a 12 inch,is it the same size as this model? Pinkbro

How does the Top Grade Oil-Infused Horween Leather compare with other leather like Oil-Treated Landslide Leather and Kip leather? Babiii
The Top Grade Oil-Infused Leather and the Oil-Treated Landslide Leather are going to be very similar. They are both stiffer and heavier than Kip leather. The Horween and Landslide leather are going to be harder to break in. The Kip leather is softer and has a shorter break in period.
Kara
How does a H web and a trapeze web compare? Does one of them catch better than the other? Gman
They really do not catch different. My son always used the modified trap, because it was easier for him to break in the way he wanted.
Linda
My son plays third, second, and pitches. Is this glove good for pitchers? Sticks
Yes, it is an infield model.
Kara
Is this glove large enough for a middle school level outfielder? 4
Yes. It would be a good size for an outfielder.
K.B.
What are some do's and don't for breaking in and caring for this glove? Fletch
Personally I would be scarce with oil on this glove. Maybe a conditioner for the lacing. Other than that, just the usual use and care.
Linda
Is this a good utility glove? Lefty
That depends on the age of the player. I recommend our Glove Coach. It's a great tool: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Tyler
My son is in high school and plays outfield. My concern is that 11.75 is too small. Is that size alright? texzbuckeye
That would be a pretty small glove for the outfield. The most common size used in the outfield would be the 12.75. Here is a link to view our models of 12.75 gloves. http://www.ballglovewarehouse.com/products/size~12.75/glove%20type~baseball/
Derek
Is the Louisville Pro Flare a light or heavy glove? I want a lighter glove for third base. nate
The Louisville Slugger TPX Pro Flare Series: FL1175CC will have an average glove weight to it. There is a series of glove very close to this one, the Louisville Slugger TPX HD9 Series: XH1175GO. This glove will provide a zero gravity performance mesh back. The mesh backing will give the glove a lighter feel. This is a difficult question for us to answer as much of the decision comes down to the personal preference of the player and what web type you have used previously with the most success. The H web is a great web style for infielders, so the Louisville Slugger TPX Pro Flare Series: FL1175CC would probably be great for you.
Noah

When it comes to gloves, price is the absolute best indicator of quality, as you really get what you pay for. The Louisville Slugger TPX Pro Flare Series: FL1175CC retailed for $199.99, so its leather quality is very similar to an A2000 model.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
