Pros: Everything, Love the glove. Solid Glove, great material, break in is moderate. This was a replacement of the same glove I had stolen. Big Fan, at this pricepoint <$100 it exceeds the quality of many/most the gloves priced higher.

Cons: This is picky....don't like any of the fur type material inside a glove period. Sweat and use are not kind to such a material. Most gloves have this so I don't really see it as that bad of a negative.

Pros: Wow! This glove is sick. It has an insane amount of padding. It is a great glove for a second baseman but is also good for the outfield. No sting at all if you catch the ball in your palm.

Cons: Took a whole year of little league , summer ball and fall ball to break in. Even after putting it in a machine called glove buster and pounding it.

Pros: Bought this glove for my 8 yr old Short Stop who is playing in the 9-10 Division. It is supposed to be an adult glove, however, I can not get my hand in it. It is however, perfect for my son. The glove is made from high quality leather, the stitching is excellent, overall it is one fine looking glove. I used A-2000's during my youth/late teens and I think this glove is much better put together at a fraction of the cost. Justballgloves.com is fantastic, shipping was exceptionally fast...I am so glad I stumbled upon this site.

Cons: Only con, the leather is stiff and it looks like the break in time may be a good period of time to make the glove useable for a little kid. But, good gloves do not come broken in.

Bodie
is this glove good for my nine year old? he is 9. tim
I think it would be a good option. A 11.25 inch glove like this one would be a good option for a 9 or 10 year old to use as an all-around utility glove.
Brett
Is this glove fitted enough for a high school 2nd baseman?(14 years old) and is it tight or somewhat lose on the hand not suffacating? Wise#14chs
Yes, this glove is made to be used in the infield for someone in high school. This glove is not going to be tight on the hand.
Brett
im thinking of getting this glove, but my only concern is how long it takes to break in while using it daily. So how long do you think it would take? Chet
This glove will not take very ling to break in. It will take less then a week to break in. You will be able to use it in a game within a week.
Brett
My son is 9, and just got selected to his leagues 8U all-star team. He has played first and third but not sure at this point where he'll play. He's also very tall for his age, big hands. Is this a good glove to use as a utility glove for both infield/otfield? russ
For a 9 year old, this glove would be an excellent choice for a utility player who plays some infield and outfield. I probably wouldn't go any larger than 11.5 inches, and an 11.25 glove would work very well.
JH
My son will be 9 years old in october and is currently playing on an 8U travel team. He is on the smaller size weighs around 55 lbs and has small hands. Would you recommend this glove for him or should I go with an 11 inch. He plays both infield and outfield. Ignacio
I would recommend some of the youth gloves that we carry for him. I think that the adult gloves are going to be a little big for him. All of our youth gloves are going to have youth in the name of the glove so that you are able to pick them out from the adult gloves.
Brett
i am 10 yrs old.i pitch and play shortstop on a travel team would this be a good glove to use and would it fit me? me
Yes, this glove will fit you. I think that this would be a good glove for you to use. You might be more comfortable with an 11.00 inch glove, but some 10 year olds are able to use this glove. This is going to be a very durable glove.
Brett
Is this glove on the heavier side or would I be better off with the 11.50 Mizuno Franchise. My son will be playing 10u middle infield. Thanks ,Rex Rexj75
The omaha pro is an average weight glove. It is made of very good leather for a glove at that price point. I would say he probably wouldn't be better off in a franchise.
Mark
Does this glove have a more shallow pocket? Really concerned with quick ball transfer Rexj75
This is an model designed with infielders in mind. It will have a slightly more shallow than average pocket.
Brett
Im 12 years old and play 2nd and short an im about to try out for middle school baseball would this glove be good for me buzzardboy
This glove would be prefect for you. This glove will hold its shape and will last a few good seasons for you.
KG
My son is 8, almost 9. He's on the bigger side for his age and plays mostly short, second and first........outfield too being the guys are still young and we move them all around. He needs a new glove, would this be a good one for him? Also looking at the Akadema AOZ91.........suggestions? Nick
The Pro Series is going to be an excellent choice. It is designed for infield, but has a deep enough pocket it can be used for the outfield as well.
K.B.
How do you measure your hand to determine what size glove you should use? ( a infield glove SS&2B) HC
Glove size is actually more determined by position than by size of the player, except for youth gloves). If he plays infield the most common sizes is from 11-12" depending on preference. Since it is an 11.25" glove it is within the range to be an infield glove. Keep in mind our 100 day guarantee, if it doesn't fit the way he likes.
Linda
Does this glove come in an 11" model? What is the size of the hand opening? How does this glove compare to the Rawlings gold glove pro taper? My son is 7 and I need a good glove, but I don't want one that is too large. K2
This glove does not come in an 11.00. This glove will be comparable to the GG1102G. The difference will be in size. If you are looking for something similar in a 11.00 I would check out that Rawlings glove.
KG
Is this glove a good choice for my 6-7 year old, or is there a better choice for his age in gloves of similar quality? Kevin
This is great glove, but an 11 inch may be appropriate for his age. Another glove that could work would be the OSL1100.
Shelbe
Is this a good pitching glove for a freshman in high school? brentsilvas24
It's a great glove but the webbing might be a little too "open" and allow batters and coaches to see how you have your fingers on the ball.
Linda
Is this good for 3rd base? Jose#19
The OPRO1125 is an infield glove, and would be good for 3rd base.
KB
Is this an appropriate fitting glove for an adult? mlj
Yes the Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 is an appropriate glove for an adult. It would primarily be used for infield positions.
Nick
Hi iam 12 years old and i need a new glove that i can make a quick tranfer with. i play second base mostly and a little bit of 3rd base. Would this be a good glove for me or would the omaha flare be better? baserunner22
Both would be excellent options. The Flare design will offer a larger catching surface and may be a slightly better option for quicker ball transfer because of this.
Tyler
What is the best glove for a 12 year old who plays sandy covax that is a second baseman. This glove or which other one? fielder
For a 12 year old playing second base we recommend an 11.25" or 11.50" glove, so the Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 would be a great option. Here is a link to our most popular gloves in those sizes. http://www.justballgloves.com/products/glove%20type~baseball/sub%20type~fielders/thrower~right/size~11.25/?utm_source=justbats&utm_medium=lower_right&utm_campaign=justballgloves_092211 http://www.justballgloves.com/products/glove%20type~baseball/sub%20type~fielders/thrower~right/size~11.50/?utm_source=justbats&utm_medium=lower_right&utm_campaign=justballgloves_092211
Tom
Is this a good glove if you are 13 and play middle school ball? 2nd base
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series would be an excellent choice for a middle school infielder.
Nick
Is this glove good for a division 1 college pitcher? DP
The Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 could work for you, but this model is 11.25" and is typically for a second baseman or shortstop. I'd recommend a glove size of 11.75"-12". I'd also recommend a closed web on the glove so the hitters can't see your grip or hand placement. Try this model, it's also an Omaha Pro Series: http://www.justballgloves.com/product/louisville-slugger-omaha-pro-series--opro1200/11767/
Brandon
Will this glove fit an adult hand? Frank
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 will fit an adult hand. It is designed to be an infield model.
Zach
What does the "Pro Padding" do? What is the palm padding for this glove and how is it compare with other similarly priced gloves palm padding like the Rawlings? For a 41 year old 5'7" man, do you recommend to get the 11.25 or thew 11.50? nate
The Pro Padding is extra padding to add to the comfort of the gloves. Also, Louisville has added full leather finger linings along with theur bruise guard padding for additional protection. The most recommended size for an adult middle infielder would be 11.5", however if you prefer a smaller than normal glove size then an 11.25" would be fine for a middle infielder as well.
Jeff
Hey, I am a 17 year old Junior in high school. I am stuck on a good glove to get. I am playing shortstop and third and am looking for a glove between the price of $150 and lower. Garrett duncan
If you are a high school shortstop and third baseman the Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 may be too small at 11.25". You will need an 11.50"-11.75". Check out these gloves: Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP54S, Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Flare Series: OFL1176, Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1175IW, and the All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-PI.
Brandon
Is this glove the same quality as the Wilson A2000? spotty#5
Price is the best indicator of the quality of leather used in a glove. However, the Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 is a well-constructed model that features Professional Grade, Oil-Treated Steer Hide Leather. It would be a great option for a middle infielder.
Mac
Looking for 2nd base glove for 12 year old USSSA travel ball player. Prefer game ready or near in reasonable price range. My son is slightly less than average size, I think 11.00" to 11.25". Dennis
The Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 is a great option. It will not not take long to break-in and is an excellent choice for the price.
Kara
I was wondering the comparison between this Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 and the Easton Natural Elite Series: NEB1125 as it relates to quality of leather (durability and break in) and the weight. Considering for a 10 year old travel ball player (infield). SCTEC
Both the Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 and the Easton Natural Elite Series: NEB1125 will have a short break-in and similar durability. Both gloves would be perfect for a 10 year old middle infielder.
John H
I am a 12 year old 3rd baseman. Would a 11.25" glove work better than 11" glove? Giant Town
The Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1125 may be slightly small, at 11.25". We recommend an 11.50" for a 12 year old third baseman and in the years to come, such as the Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1154.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
