Description
Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Their increasing market share can be attributed to their innovative quality and professionally designed product line. Focusing on the quality, feel, and small details has lifted Akadema to the next level. With a goal to provide products for all ball players, Akadema has created the new Prodigy Youth Series. Constructed from U.S. Steer hide throughout the pocket and webbing, the Prodigy Series provides ideal toughness and padding. On the back of the glove, this series features the exclusive AkademaLyte leather that decreases the overall weight. This not only allows these gloves to be more easily playable, it also significantly decreases the break-in time to the point where these gloves are virtually game-ready out of the box. With the younger player in mind, Akadema slightly narrowed the finger stalls on these gloves to provide a more snug fit. Akadema: Bring Your "A Game"! Free Shipping!
Warranty
Akadema gloves will come with a manufacturer’s warranty of nine (9) months from the purchase date. This warranty will cover ripping and tears of the leather of the glove. If you feel that a warranty issue has arisen with your Akadema glove that was purchased from JustGloves and it has been 9 months or less since the purchase, please contact the Glove Experts from JustGloves. The Glove Experts are knowledgeable of the warranty processes and can help you get set up with directions for doing a warranty replacement with Akadema.

Good Quality for Price and Age Group! John O. Parent
Pros: We bought this glove for our 10 year old lefty last Christmas, which gave us plenty of time to break it in. It didn’t take long, and it developed a great pocket. It’s worked wonderful so far, and he loves it. Good quality glove at this price point for a Little League ball player.
Cons: Yellow paint fades/wears a bit (only cosmetic), and this size might not be suitable for a more developed 12 year old hand; I’m glad we made the purchase when we did so he’ll get the most use out of it.
Youth glove Mike Ferrill Other
Pros: It’s a nice looking glove I bought it for my 9 year old grandson
Cons: I paid to have it broke in but I don’t think he will be able to use it this year as it is really stiff
AHC94 Mitt Jack Parent
Pros: Glove is great. My 11yr. Old son loves it.
Cons: Paid 40 bucks to have it broken in. I'm pretty disappointed because I dont think they did Anything to it. It's taken me awhile now to get it broken in somewhat.
New glove Ignacio jimenez Coach
Pros: Nice fit and color
Cons: Lacks padding for hand when not caught cleanly in web
Glove collapse. Floppy mess Kyle Coach
Pros: None
Cons: With very little use, this glove collapsed and turned unto an unusable mess. Stay away if you want your glove to maintain any shape whatsoever. Used 10 months. Now unusable...
Great Youth Glove x2.5 Seasons Todd Parent
Pros: My 12 year old son used this glove over the past two and a half seasons in 120+ games and it's still in great shape. Took some breaking in, but can't say enough about the quality of lacing and leather. Held it's structure and pocket well. He's moving on to a bigger glove, but I'll stash this one away as his first 1B glove.
Cons: None. Unless you were running to first....then it was along walk back to the dugout.
Flappy,Floppy,Flopperton. Goraman parent
Pros: Nice looking, no break in needed.
Cons: Not Structured even a little. Hard thrown balls bend it back , ball keeps going. the outer edge has no support. It is critical to catch in the pocket with this glove, not good for first base where balls are often thrown to the outside of the base line. Laces are stiff and hard, they don't stay tied. good for very young players that don't throw very hard.
not a bargan too many gloves dad parent
Pros: the glove size is ok i have a 7 year old playing 8u .He is 75 lbs and 4'4" and can easily handle this glove
Cons: the glove is not high quality it after a few games is floppy in the pocket and easily folds over on hard throws. There is verry little padding and the leather is a bit thin.A $99 youth glove i was hoping for somthing closer to a rawlings gold glove elite, not the case.

Pros: looks good
Cons: Top edge needs to be stiffer .My boys are 8 and 10. May be a great mitt for a 7 year old but can't take much more .
glove is just ok better options out there. allen coach
Pros: it breaks in fast ,looks good .
Cons: the leather and construction is thin and lightweight. My 7 year old is a lefty 1st basemen while the glove broke in fast it was soft ,the pocket rolled over after about a month of use.for the cost the quality imop should be better.
nice glove maui baseball parent
Pros: awesome glove. my 10 year old loves it. fits perfect. hardly any break in time
Cons: none
Great for young players, get your money's worth. Nick player
Pros: I got this in 6th grade and am still using it today in my sophomore year of high school. It's grown much too small for me now and I'm shopping for new ones but it is amazing for younger players. It breaks in relatively fast and softens up and really fits to your hand before you know it, and it lasts.
Cons: Not much padding for the palm and heel, so if you're getting balls bounced to you from the coach's son on third base who can't really throw a ball but can manage to one hop bullets to you, your hand is gonna sting a little. Other than that, it is fantastic while your hand fits in it.
BB Dad
Pros: Bought this glove for my 9yr old and he couldn't be happier. The glove was ready to go with no break in period, glove has quality leather and great padding, he catches the ball with ease like if he had his regular glove.
Cons: None- if you are looking for a 1st basemen glove for a reasonable price then this is the glove for you.
Andrew45
Pros: Well made glove, did not take long to break in. Fits my six year old son well. Most of all, he loves it! Very pleased with this glove!
Cons: None so far.
JayC
Pros:
Cons: This glove is too firm for 8U youth player.
gloves CJ32 player
Pros: An ok glove for kids, not high school players
Cons: No padding, is very floppy. The leather is very cheap.
Great glove Joe parent
Pros: The glove is a good quality and easy break in.
Cons: The strings come untied rather easy.
Armstka
Pros: My son has been using this glove all season. Excellent quality. Truly top notch, especially for the money. Should last a long long time.
Cons: Be aware that it is a very big glove, even though it is "youth" size. It is substantially bigger than his standard fielding glove, so it takes some getting used to. The thick leather does take some extra breaking in as well, so don't expect it to break in after one game, or one night wrapped up.
Matt
Pros: Great glove, especially at this price! My 9 year old has played 150 games over the last two years with this mitt. Break in was quick and durability has been solid.
Cons: Break in was fast but with that comes fatigue too. This mitt will probably be retired before next February but I would buy it again and again.
Base a game of ball
Pros: Super fast break-in. Very light! My son loves it great do small hands.
Cons: We shall see, none at the moment.
Grandpa
Pros: Well broken-in and easy to handle for a 9-10 year old. I really like the glove
Cons: Catching web is a bit thick, thinner might be better.
Bulldog
Pros: Great glove. My 7 year old loves it. Break in time is average. Helps him dig the ball better on low throws. Recommend this glove highly
Cons: None yet
Lefty
Pros: Great mitt for 9 to 12 year old kids, breaks in easily , easy to catch with.
Cons: None
Softball Dad
Pros: Bought this glove for my lefty daughter (11) who initially complained about the break in. She kept playing it and now she only takes it off when she's call on to pitch or bat! She loves the deep pocket and its stiff sides help her dig out the occasional errant throws to first.
Cons: Takes oil and patience to break in but the return is fantastic!
Lefty
Pros: Great first base mitt for my 9 year old. Took about two weeks to break in and is a great glove!
Cons: seems bigger than a 11.5 but the kid easily handles it.
Scott
Pros: The glove has short break in period, seems to be well made and the price was right.
Cons: Velcro strap for wrist would be nice.
mannyfresh
Pros: great leather, easy to break in, comfortable for my 11 year old, thought breaking in would be a problem, Akadema gloves usually are, but this youth glove was wonderful
Cons:
ajdlugo
Pros: good quality glove
Cons: a bit larger than expected. company should make slight smaller version.
Anonymous
Pros: Great price for a quality glove
Cons: Needs more time to break in then what was being stated in other reviews.
jj sanchez
Pros: great glove, fantastic leather, laces are strong, molding is done correctly....padding, just overall perfect......
Cons: none......
Coach Jake
Pros: It's a great glove, with little break in time. My eight yr. old loves' it, and it gave him a ton of confidence. This glove is a great buy with quality leather!
Cons: None so far.
Jonny 5
Pros: Just got this glove for my 8 year old, lefty. He loves it and so do I. We've conditioned it once and used it in 2 practices so far and it's breaking in great. This is a great place to find a quality mitt.
Cons: I think for the youth gloves a velcro strap for the wrist would be great... small wrists. Otherwise this is a 5-star glove.
Andy
Pros: We're very happy with this glove. I purchased it in black last fall for my son's 7th birthday so he could casually break it in over the winter. The break-in time was average. The quality is excellent. We knew it would be a bit big for a 7 year old (perfect probably for 8 or maybe 9 year old) but we've been VERY pleasantly surprised at how easy it is for him to handle. It's ready for spring play. Excellent choice.
