Pros: Pretty comfortable. Looks great.

Cons: I had high hopes for this glove and ended up dissapointed. The leather seems extremely cheap and soft. The biggest problem is the positioning of the hand inside the glove. When squeezing the glove closed, the palm closes up and the pocket stays wide open. Add to it that this glove is made in China and there is no way it's worth $100.

Nate

Pros: Great glove, it is well worth the money. Lots of padding, makes a big POP when you catch the ball. Looks really cool. Fields the ball well.

Cons: If you don't catch the ball right, you will drop it.

Nate

Pros: Looks Nice.

Cons: The glove did not completely close over the ball, and the pocket stayed wide open when closing it. The thumb stall was very loose and laces snapped when they were tightened, apparently they were sewn in. Well, that's what you get for the price.

buyer beware! Paul coach

Pros: Nothing

Cons: I bought this glove for my 9 year old son this past summer as he really wanted it although I had never heard of Akadema before. With two boys who play travel baseball and with 30+ years of experience breaking in baseball gloves, I was extremely disappointed with this glove.

Great glove.. sorta. Carlin Rasberry player

Pros: Catches balls insanely well. Although if ball is palmed, it will drop.

Cons: My glove had a hole put through the web of it. I only have had it for a year. Cheap put together. Good glove while it lasted though.

Goraman

Pros: I dose not need break in.

Cons: I had to return it the day we got it as it just doesn't hold up to a moderately hard throw. If the ball hits the outer finger area it lays over instead of directing the ball to the center. There is so little padding. It is just to flimsy and has no structure. The stiffest part of the mitt is the laces. They are stiff and don't hold a knot very well. A good 8 to 9 year old throws to hard for this glove unless every ball hits the pocket. At first base your mitt has to preform as outer catches will happen, you don't want a mitt that folds over and lets the ball go on by.

looks good at first but not great quality Peter Parent

Pros: Out of the box looks like it is a quality glove.

Cons: Then reality sets in. The leather is pretty cheap. The laces cheaper still. First laces broke within a month. relaced it. Another section then broke.

Would this glove be a good fit for a girl playing 10u fast pitch? She's 4 ft 6 in and growing and currently about 80 lbs. Swinging an 19 oz. bat. first base Dad
The AJJ254-12 is more a mitt for teenage boys and possibly adults. I am thinking it may be a little too small for a 10-year-old young lady.
Kara
I wanted to know how this glove compares to the Rawlings Renegade? I loved the Renegade when I had it, but it is a cheap glove. How does this break in and feel compared to the Renegade? Bigb
The Akadema Pro Soft Series will be slightly better in leather quality than the Rawlings Renegade, but the break in will be almost the same as the Renegade was.
Noah
Is this glove good for a high school sophomore? swag
Yes, the Akadema Pro Soft Series: AJJ254-12 First Base Mitt will be solid for a high school Sophomore. However, after 15-16 years old, this glove may lack the quality that an older player would be seeking.
Noah
Would this be a good glove for a 6'2" 220 lb senior in high school? fredo
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AJJ254-12) First Base Mitt has a 12.50" pattern and could work for a high school senior. However, if you are playing at a high level, I worry if it will hold up to the demands of that type of baseball.
Jason
How does this glove, the Akadema Pro Soft Series, compare to the Wilson A800 glove? idonthaveone
The Akadema Pro Soft Series( AJJ254-12) First Base Mitt and the Wilson A800 series gloves both have a game ready and comfortable feel. The Akadema Pro Soft Series does have slightly higher quality leather than the Wilson A800 gloves.

My son is a tall 9 year old lefty who plays 10U kid pitch. I'd like a soft glove with little or no break in time. Is this the glove for him or do you recommend another brand? Carlos
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AJJ254-12 First Base Mitt is a great glove. However, the 12.5" length might make the glove a little too large for him. Akadema does make an 11.5" first base mitt that might be good to get for at least his 9 and 10 year old seasons before shifting to a bigger mitt.
Cameron
Would this fit a high school first baseman? chema
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AJJ254-12 First Base Mitt features a 12.50 inch pattern and should fit a high school player.

About the Brand

In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.

Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!

Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
