Description

New from Wilson for What a wonderful glove with perennial excellence! The Wilson A2000 Series is more than just a new year. Wilson has improved on the design while continuing to offer the quality and craftsmanship that one has come to know and expect from the A2000. Since its introduction in 1957, the Wilson A2000 has set the standard for premium ball gloves. With over 55 years of game changing performance, the A2000 only continues to get better and is still one of the most popular glove choices among baseball's top athletes. Wilson has spent decades working with MLB players to refine the A2000 baseball glove so that it outperforms and outlasts all others. The A2000 is made from American Pro Stock Steerhide Leather that is hand selected for its rugged durability. Inside the glove, there is an extremely comfortable Dri-Lex Wrist Lining. Dri-Lex Technology is an ultra-breathable material that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. Each A2000 model also features the patented Dual-Welting that creates a pre-curved finger design to help maintain the most stable and durable pocket possible. With this particular glove, Wilson has replaced some of the leather on the back of the shell with their proprietary Super Skin material. Super Skin further reduces the gloves break-in time, repels moisture, repels dirt, and is actually 2X stronger and lighter than actual leather. Unmatched in their feel and performance, all A2000 patterns are endlessly field tested and constantly improved by hundreds of professionals and top amateur players that choose only Wilson Ball Gloves. The result is a glove that breaks in perfectly for hardworking players everywhere. Wilson: Choose Your Glove!

Pros: Nice glove, well made.

Cons: I returned it since I wanted to try the open back, however, when I received the glove and used is for 5 minutes, I didn't like it.

Pros: Nice quality leather (a lot squeaky around the edges).

Cons: Not for larger hand or long fingers. Had to return. Opening in back is a little large. I ordered a similar A2K model, and that one is a much better quality and size. It seems that the Super Skin addition on this mitt takes away from the size of the hand opening, unless I just happen to get a small wrist-ed mitt.

What size 1st base glove would you recommend for someone going into 14U? Jim
For someone going into 14U, we would recommend getting a 12.50 inch 1B mitt. The 2017 Wilson A2000 Super Skin 12.5" First Base Mitt: A20RB171617SS would be a great option to consider.

Will this glove be a single break or double break? Sam
How the glove breaks in is determined more by the player than the design of the glove. This glove, like almost all first baseman mitts, has a hinge on either side of the wrist opening. This allows for either style break-in depending on how the player wants to do it.
Kyle J.
Is there a difference between softball and baseball first baseman mitts? softball pops
Yes. A baseball mitt will have a slightly smaller pocket since it is designed to catch baseballs, while a softball mitt will have a larger pocket in order to better catch softballs. In addition, all fastpitch gloves will have smaller wrist openings and finger stalls since they will be designed to fit a woman's hand.
