My son is 13 years old and 5'4" and 115 lbs. Is this a good fit? Also, is the older model available to save a little? shaun
For a 13 year old catcher we would recommend getting a catcher's mitt that is 32.00-32.50 inches. The 2017 Wilson A2000 32.5" Catcher's Mitt: A20RB17PUDGE would be a great option to consider as it is a 32.50 inch pattern. As for the 2016 model, we no longer have this catcher's mitt in stock.
Cameron
My son is 13, 5'0" 120 lbs men's hands, been using the Mizuno Samurai 33 inch last 2 years. Looking for an upgrade, I was concerned about going down to the 32.5, would the A2K 33.5 be a better option? Ken
It really just comes down to personal preference. I do not think that you would notice a very big difference between he 33" Samurai that he has been using and the 2017 Wilson A2000 32.5" Catcher's Mitt (A20RB17PUDGE) personally after having just looked at both gloves. I did not notice a difference trying them both on.
Carter
I'm a pretty big catcher, like 6 foot 4. I was wondering, should I get and use this glove, or go up in size? Ilovebaseball
The size of a catcher's mitt is more about personal preference than size of the player, as the wrist opening and finger stalls should all be nearly the same in size for any adult mitt. Smaller gloves allow for easier transfer out of the glove, while larger gloves make catching the ball easier and possibly easier framing.

I am a juco catcher and currently I use a Louisville slugger Omaha catchers mitt and it's getting beat up pretty fast. Would this glove be able to better handle 85 to 90 mph pitching? mike
Yes, the 2017 Wilson A2000 32.5" Catcher's Mitt (A20RB17PUDGE) would be able to handle 85-90 MPH pitching, it is an extremely high quality glove.
Carter
Would this be the best option for my 5'2" 125 lb 13 y/o? I know personal preference comes into play, but I am trying to find a high quality glove that he will like and give it to him as a gift. MRD
The 2017 Wilson A2000 32.5" Catcher's Mitt: A20RB17PUDGE is a high quality mitt and would be a great option for your 13 year old player.
Jason
How long does it take to break in? liam bohrer
It is hard to say how long it may take someone to break in the 2017 Wilson A2000 32.5" Catcher's Mitt: A20RB17PUDGE. A rough estimate, assuming the mitt is being worked on each day, would be 1 month. Could be less or it could be more; it all depends on how much the mitt is being used and what an individual player feels with regards to when a mitt is game ready.
Cameron
My son is 12 and catches some portion of 50 to 70 games per year. More inexpensive gloves have resulted in thumb injuries. We are looking to upgrade to a higher quality glove to handle higher velocity. He"s a smaller kid less than 90 lbs., would this glove be a good fit? 5Catts
Yes, the A2000 line utilizes some of the highest quality leather in the sport. This 2017 Wilson A2000 32.5" Catcher's Mitt: A20RB17PUDGE would be a great option. Like I said, the Pro Stock Leather will be longer lasting and should provide premium performance for your player.
Tyler
Do you sell any accessories to this catcher's mitt, like the pocket area? If you do, give me a price. Floyd Chavez
Unfortunately we do not have any accessories for the Wilson A2000 32.5" Catcher's Mitt: A20RB17PUDGE. We do sell a glove care kit to assist with the break-in process.
Cameron
What's the difference between this "Pudge" model and the regular A2000 mitt? I know Pedroia fit is tighter, but any unique feature about the Pudge, size-wise?? Casey
This does not have a unique fit as far as we know. It will have a standard, adult-sized fit to it. It is just a replica design/copy of the game-day model and style that Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez used when he played.
Kyle
Is it available anywhere in SuperSkin? And what are some special features abut this glove? ari
The Wilson A2000 32.5" Catcher's Mitt: A20RB17PUDGE was not made featuring SuperSkin. As for the unique features on this mitt, it has an extended palm, wide web and stiff thumb.
