Pros: I own 5 catcher's mitts, including 2 other Nikona mitts. This is by far the best yet. It is so light I can move it into position, and react to changes, quickly. It does have the least padding of the mitts I own, but being able to position the glove makes up for it.

America’s pastime. American made. Since 1934, Nokona has been producing ball gloves for America’s pastime right here in the United States. Made with top-grain American hides provided by American ranchers, our leathers are tanned in the USA to Nokona’s specifications. Nokona gloves are still produced in the very same small town in Texas, where Nokona all started in the 1920s. They are made by Americans who carefully cut, stamp, stitch, lace, and embroider each glove by hand. Each Nokona has its own unique identity and feel, based on the careful selection of leather per p …

My daughter is just beginning her first year of college and although she is a utility player her coach has informed her she will be spending a lot of time behind the dish this season. I purchased her a X2 Buckaroo fielder's glove last year and she loves it. Time for a new catcher's mitt. Would this one be appropriate? She is 5'3 but, does have small hands and she prefers a lighter glove. Padding not a deal breaker but, quality is. Thanks Asked by Michael

I think the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Catchers Mitt: X2-V3250 would be a good option for your player. It is a half inch smaller from what I would recommend but because she has smaller hands, it might be for the best. The glove is also made of Kangaroo leather so it will very durable but also lightweight. Dan Expert

Why is the X2-V3250 advertised as game ready and the other Nokona mitts are not? Softer leather? Does this affect longevity for the mitt? Asked by Nathan

This Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Catchers Mitt (X2-V3250) will feature the combination of stampede and kangaroo leather. These two leathers combined together create a very high quality leather, but a very soft leather as well. Even though the mitt will be very soft, this X2 Buckaroo should still be able to hold up for multiple seasons of use if taken care of properly due to the quality of the leathers used to build the glove. My daughter is 13 and she has been playing catcher since she was 6. She is an advance catcher. I've been looking into getting her this glove but my only concern is that it will be too small or not enough padding. Do you guys recommend for her to use a bigger glove with more padding? Asked by marco

For a player that is 13 we would recommend a 33.00 inch catcher's mitt. The Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Catchers Mitt: X2-V3250 is a 32.50 inch model and might be a little small for her. Of course the size of the catcher's mitt is really one of personal preference so using a 32.50 model is certainly a viable option. As for the padding, it is more than adequate on the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Catchers Mitt: X2-V3250. Cameron Expert
