Pros: Replaces GFN1102. Great quality, easy to break-in, nice looking, perfect for my 7 yr old. Best bang for your buck in a cow leather glove.

Cons: Had to buy this to replace a lost GFN 1102 Franchise. just a sad deal, but no cons for the glove itself..:)

Pros: 8 year old sons old 10.5 inch was too unforgiving if the ball didn't land right in the pocket, and 11.5 was too big for him to squeeze. This 11 inch pattern is just right, and he catches almost everything now. Fine glove, breaks in fast cause it comes deeply oiled and soft.

Cons: maybe a little too much spring caused by the padding in the palm, but I think it just needs to be broken in more. No big deal in any event.

Would this be a good choice for a 7U travel ball player? I'm looking at this glove and a Mizuno Prospect. Asked by Colby

Our general recommendation for a 7 year old player is a 10" glove. However, an 11" size like the Mizuno Franchise Baseball Series: GFN1100B1 is also suitable if your player is comfortable using a larger glove. This glove has very soft leather which permits for a quick break-in period. The Mizuno Prospect Series is very similar in quality and construction. They both feature a palm pad that allows for extra protection. The Mizuno Prospect Series is a youth fit so it has tighter finger stalls and a smaller hand opening for a more snug fit on a younger player's hand. The Mizuno Franchise Baseball Series: GFN1100B1 is an adult glove so it's likely that it will be too large in the hand opening for your player. Angelique Expert

My son is 5'5" tall and has smaller hands. Is an 11" glove the right size for him? Asked by marshall

If your player is 12 years or younger and is playing a middle infield position, I think an 11.00" model like this Mizuno Franchise Baseball Series (GFN1100B1) could be an excellent option of glove for him. However, if he is older than 12 and playing on the infield, I would recommend looking at a glove with more of an 11.25" to 11.50" length on it. Ben Expert

My son currently uses an 11" Prospect, we want to upgrade to a better glove. Should I stay with the same size, meaning will this glove fit the same as his current glove, or would you recommend a different size? Thanks. Asked by Frank

The sizing on the Mizuno Franchise Series: GFN1100B1 would depend on position and age. If he hasn't grown out of the other Prospect glove you could use an 11" again or possibly move up to an 11.50". Brandon Expert

Mizuno has once again made it their priority to develop the game's most exclusive line of ball gloves. The Franchise series has grown to be Mizuno's most popular line of baseball gloves. Specific to the Franchise series is the new Hi-Low lacing system. The Hi-Low system increases flexibility throughout the web while maintaining structure. You will also find the new Adjust-A-Size wrist closure which makes a personalized fit for any size hand possible. By incorporating ParaShock and PalmSoft technologies within this glove, rest assured that ever step is being taken to help protect your hand when catching the ball. The ParaShock palm pad absorbs the shock of repeated use providing outstanding protection with ideal comfort. Then the PalmSoft incorporates padded pigskin in the palm of the glove for increased comfort and feel. If you are serious about performance, get serious with the Franchise Series.
