Pros: It breaks in very nicely. With a small amount from a tube of the Nokona glove conditioner. I really love the feel of this leather. Its great in a game and you can tell it will last for a very long time.

Cons: The website says it comes almost game ready. This is SO far from the truth. When the glove arrived it was so stiff I could not even close it. I spent 4 hours breaking it in by hand the first day I got it. I worked on it for an hour a day for the next 4 days. Then I started to apply the glove conditioner to it and it really helped. This glove was DEFINITELY not game ready.

America’s pastime. American made. Since 1934, Nokona has been producing ball gloves for America’s pastime right here in the United States. Made with top-grain American hides provided by American ranchers, our leathers are tanned in the USA to Nokona’s specifications. Nokona gloves are still produced in the very same small town in Texas, where Nokona all started in the 1920s. They are made by Americans who carefully cut, stamp, stitch, lace, and embroider each glove by hand. Each Nokona has its own unique identity and feel, based on the careful selection of leather per p …

I have a WS1350 Nokona walnut. Is this X2 Elite just as big or, because of the better leather, is it a little smaller? The finger stalls in my glove are huge. Asked by ragu

Is this glove too big to use in the infield or as a utility glove? Asked by nick

A decision on the use of this 2017 Nokona X2 Elite 13.5" Slow Pitch Softball Glove (X2-1350C) would ultimately be up to the individual player. However, I have heard of mitts of this size being used on the infield and as utility models for slowpitch play. Ben Expert

I like a very soft, flexible glove but most new gloves are extremely stiff and difficult to break in. What is the normal break-in time for this glove? Asked by Paul

Break-in time always varies from player to player, as it highly depends on how much use the glove gets, whether glove oil is used, and other factors. That being said, if this glove was broken only by playing catch/practicing with it, I would estimate about a month before it starts to get soft and flexible. Unfortunately that just comes with high quality gloves. The better quality the leather, the stiffer they are out of the box. Kyle J. Expert
