Shoeless Joe Gloves give a player the quality, feel and style of the gloves worn by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models worn in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series or today`s models in the Professional Model Series. The Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the Glove with a beaten up and `Game Worn` look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it its own unique feature. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. How is the weight of the glove? How soft is the leather on the Shoeless Joe vs Louisville? I bought my daughter a Louisville Valkyre glove last season and by her summer league, the glove became very soft. Hawaii 5-O
Based on reputation and design the Shoeless Joe gloves will have a softer and lighter feel. The construction of this model includes specific ingredients to soften the leather and a special break-in during production to give it that "game-worn" look and feel.

If you use this glove in slow pitch softball, I would recommend using it as an infield. I think it would be a little too small to use in the outfield, but I have seen multiple slow pitch softball players use a 12 inch glove in the outfield.

I would recommend a smaller glove for an 11 year old. Most outfield players in high school and college use a glove that is 12.00-12.50 inches. I would recommend an 11.00-11.50 for someone that is 11 years old.

This will be a durable glove for someone to use for 3rd base. It will have a little less padding than most other gloves in this price range, but that is the way that Shoeless Joe gloves are made.

The Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1200VL is a 12" model. It might be a bit too big for a 8 year old. We suggest the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1125CW. It would break-in rather easy and may fit a lot better.

Based off the information you've provided, I would consider looking at gloves with a 11.50" web pattern. I think the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1200VL might be too big for him on the infield. However, the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1150MT would work well for second base and the modified T-Web will hide the baseball when your player is on the mound.
