Description

If you've ever played catcher, you've likely heard of All Star mitts. For years, All Star's catcher's mitts and equipment have been highly regarded among those who play the position. This season, for the first time ever, All Star has released their own line of fielders gloves called the System Seven Series. These gloves draw from the success of their mitts and use the same high quality leather found on their popular CM3000 model. This Japanese Maruhashi Black and Tan leather allows these gloves to break in fast and have long lasting durability. The tan leather inside breaks in fast and forms a great pocket, while the black leather's stiffer feel provides the support needed for a long lasting glove. Inside, All Star's Pro Guard Padding provides a thin layer of extra padding in the palm that helps kill the sting of mis-caught balls, yet is thin enough to still allow the player to know right where the ball is in the glove. This 11.75 Inch model features a conventional open back, deep pocket, and sturdy Modified T web that are all perfect for pitchers and infielders alike. All Star: Move Forward. Rise Above! Pros: This glove is a nice combination of easy to break in and stiff leather it took me around two week to break my in to be game ready I recommend no tubing any glove oil or anyone's type of material on this glove breaking it in with out the oil makes the leather on any glove last longer

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-PI? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I have a question about the stiffness of this glove. When I receive it in the mail will it be stiff like a Primo or looser like a Rawlings Heart of the Hide or Gold Glove? Nick
The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-PI glove will be pretty stiff, but more easily broken-in than a Rawlings Heart of the Hide Series glove. If you have ever felt an All Star CM3000 Catcher's Mitt, it will be made of the same leather. The tan leather inside breaks in fast and forms a great pocket, while the black leather's stiffer feel provides the support needed for a long lasting glove.

Was looking at this glove for a 12 year old pitcher and a 3rd baseman. Can the two holes in the wrist area be used to make glove smaller? Also, is this a tight fitting glove or made for larger hands? phil
If your son has smaller fingers I would go with the 11.50 Inch model. Which is the All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-IF. If you son has larger hands I would go with the All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-PI. Which is bigger and is a 11.75 Inch model. Both are Infielders gloves and a great product.

The All Star System Seven Series: FGS7-PI is pretty stiff when you get it. I would say it would be 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. That would be a scale for when you first get it. It break in rather easy after you work on it.

Can this glove be used in the outfield at all? I am a third baseman/left fielder. neillt7
At 11.75", the All Star System Seven Series (FGS7-PI) may be a bit small for outfield play. Typically, outfielders prefer gloves that range from 12.00"-12.75" in length. But glove size is very preferential. If you wanted to make it work for both third and left, you definitely could.

(1) I see that the pocket depth is stated as "deep" but isn't "shallow" better for an infield glove? (2) How does this compare to a Rawlings 200 Series in that respect? glove fan
(1) In regard to pocket depth, the advantage or disadvantage will be dependent upon the preferences of the individual player. Some infielders like the deeper pocket for fielding performance, while others want a shallow pocket for transfer purposes. (2) Yes, I would imagine that the pocket depth on this All Star System Seven Series (FGS7-PI) will feel similar to what is on 200 series Heart of the Hide glove as long as the mitt being compared is the same 11.75" length.
