Bobby
Pros: Great looking glove.I bought it for my 13 year old brother; it has very good padding. The pocket is great; we love the quality of the leather. I recommend it to a young boy.
Cons: none
DoublePlay
Pros: High quality youth catchers mitt. Glove is heavier than other brands; requires more break-in time. My 10 year old loved the glove once the glove started to break-in. Reccomend glove for 10-12 year olds.
Cons:

Pros: Great leather! Padding is great. Breakin was easy, made great pocket. Wrist pad stays out of the way.
Cons: breakin was 2+ weeks a little longer than anticipated. Well worth the wait!

Pros: Glove has been great so far. Light weight, great pocket, easy break-in, and holding shape
Cons: None thus far, but haven't used in game situation
Bob
Pros: Elite quality at a lower price. I bought this glove for my 10 year old son after recommendations that All-Star was "the" mitt to get. I then called All-Star and talked with Brad. Brad absolutely knows his stuff and answered every question that I had in regards to the glove. My main difficulty was not being able to have my son put his hand in the glove and Brad recommended Just Ball Gloves as the perfect place to purchase the mitt. We did and haven't been disappointed. For a mid/upper mid-range mitt, it is absolutely amazing. The quality of the leather is outstanding and I know people mention the break in time. For the sturdiness and quality of the leather, it really isn't bad. Comparable mitts in this price range and up take longer than it took this mitt to break in. The pocket is wonderful and the 31.5" size is perfect for a younger child to be able to find the ball and get it out of his mitt quickly.

Cons: None
Stiff Scott Parent
Pros: Well made
Cons: Gonna take awhile to get it playable for a 10 yr old...

My average sized 9 year old has been using the All Star Young Pro Series: CM1010BT for the last 2 seasons with good results. Its been perfect for his 9U select team. I am looking for a new catchers glove for my son. He has a small frame and weighs about 85 lbs. He plays at major level in travel ball, and will be 12 in March. What gloves do you recommend? Coach
My son is 8.5 years old and plays year round. Most of that time it is on two teams. He is primarily a catcher. He is well above average for his age at his position. He had issues with dropping the ball a lot while using a Mizuno glove. We switched to a Akadema Rookie Series: ADS90-12 Youth Catcher's Mitt and it has help tremendously. Only problem is that this glove is starting to break down already. The leather just isn't holding up. In fact it is flaking in many places. I wanted to try something that might last long that offered a comparable pocket size. How will this glove compare to the Akadema? Brian
