Description
Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Akadema's ownership attributes an increasing market share to their innovative quality professional product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design that raise the level of play. Born to satisfy the needs of the competitive fastpitch player, the Akadema Fastpitch Design Series is handcrafted to increase your level of performance on the field. Constructed of U.S. Steerhide throughout the pocket and webbing, the back of the glove features exclusive AkademaLyte leather, decreasing the overall weight of the glove and allowing for a faster break-in period and a more manageable feel. Smaller finger stalls used to decrease the distance between the thumb and index finger and Akadema's Grasp Clasp wrist closure allow for increased playability for female fastpitch players. Cons: none
CDP
Pros: It seems like a nice glove although it will take a while to complete the break in period.
Cons: I probably would not have bought it if I would have known that it was Chinese made. I wanted an American made glove.
coach willy
Pros: great glove, akadema gloves seem to play small, break in was 3 days till game use, dd going on 3rd season and uses glove for ss and 2nd it is holding up great, buying a 13" akadema as she may play some OF a couple years of HS
Cons:
Momil
Pros: I bought this glove for my 10 year old daughter who plays on a travel team. She has small hands and this glove really fits her well. We looked at about 6 gloves and this was by far the least expensive, but the quality is on par with many more expensive gloves. It is made overseas, but if it was made here in the US it would be a $150+ glove. We steamed it and oiled the glove and played catch for about a week. Pretty close to broken in. Overall a great glove for the money and an excellent choice for someone with small hands.
Cons: It harder to close than a Mizuno (her previous glove) and is taking a little more break in than we anticipated, but much less break in than say a Nokona.

Pros: she likes it, have to see how durable it is after travel ball this spring and summer
Cons:
Fastpitch dad
Pros: Great Glove, I bought one last year for my 14u and now just bought another one for my 16u because she would borrow it every chance she got. Both daughters play 3rd and both love this glove. You will not find a better glove for the price. High quality glove for a great price.
Cons: Haven't found one yet and we have one full year of ball behind us .
Rea's dad
Pros: Bought this glove for an average size 10 yr old. Fits her hand extremely well and she absolutely loves this glove. Deeper pocket than the easton natural elite she was using, and bigger glove even though both were stamped as 12" gloves. Break in was easy, little oil in pocket, few minutes with a ball mallet and glove was loose enough to use, not game ready yet but close enough.
Cons: Haven't found any
LoveTheGlove
Pros: Originally was going to give this to my daughter so she could have her own glove and then realized this makes a perfect little league outfield glove for the young one who's hand is just a little large for the Prodigy series and even if his hands are not to big, the velcro helps keep the glove snug on the wrist. Leather is the same as Pro Soft so it's a step above the prodigy. He still uses the AZR-95 for middle infield. I still tell my daughter it's her glove, we're just borrowing it!
Cons: None!
KennyK
Pros: Close to game ready out of the box. Daughter loved it for 3 months... then... it kept getting softer and softer...
Cons: Is a soft, floppy glove with no support. After 4 months she can't use it anymore.
scott00
Pros: Excellent web design. It is forgiving. Leather is soft and considered sticky as such which is great. Break in period is pretty quick. does require a little work-in but it is very reasonable. Will be buying again.
Cons: For a year round travel player the leather holds up very well. The down side is the leather becomes fatigued at the finger area allowing the mitt to feel floppy - this is a shame because the leather overall was still in very good shape. It was heavy use.
Rachel
Pros: This review is more for the company, because they deserve it! I bought this glove for my niece for Christmas on Dec 21... the glove was on my front porch Dec 24! This shocked me, especially being it was so close to the holidays! Can't wait for my niece to try it out!!
Cons: None.
Soxfan
Pros: Quality glove very well made, the glove is a perfect fit for my 10 year old daughter. It's made for smaller hands and wrists.
Cons: The only thing that could improve this glove is all leather finger stalls. The cloth tends to rip after a lot of use, but for the price you can't beat it.
12U Dad
Pros: I felt this glove was mostly broken in as delivered. We applied some oil and used a mallet to complete the break in process. After a few practices, my daughter feels comfortable with the glove. The quality of the leather and the comfortable fit make this glove a can't miss!
Cons:
Fastpitch utility
Pros: This is the 3rd Akadema glove if purchased for my girls. I have never had an issue with any of the gloves. They all broken in easy and with normal care, held up great. The girls like the feel of the glove, the light weight and hand size. Quick break in time and held up to years of travel team games, 7 to 8 every weekend. Great gloves
Cons: This glove is a disappointment. In less than a year this glove is falling apart. The lacing comes out halfway through the weekend, making repairs in between innings sometimes. The velcro on the wrist adjustment already came off, leaving it non functioning. My 11 year old, playing 14U A travel ball needs a glove that will hold up to the work expected. I hope Akadema's craftsmanship hasn't deteriorated. Looking for a better glove now.
Akadema Glove softball dad parent
Pros: Leather feels tough, daughter didnt like at first but after about three 4 hr practices the glove broke in and she uses over her 5 yr old Nokona. She loves how the pocket formed
Cons: sunglasses that came with glove broke first weekend tourney, but there are NONE on the glove so far
Great glove BJ Parent
Pros: Hand stall is just right for not-quite adult sized hand. High quality, easy break in, has that wonderful new glove smell!
Cons: None I can think of. We love this glove!
Pick of the Litter Kim Maiers Parent
Pros: We live in a small town and access to quality gloves is only available online. I ordered multiple gloves at multiple price points for my 10 year old to try. The Akadema was hands down her favorite for fit and comfort. It's a great glove for the price. I'll be returning the rest and sticking with Akadema.
Cons: None.
