My daughter's had one of these for a couple of years and is thinking of a new mitt. Is there really a difference in the amount of padding in this and the Mizuno GXS57? This says it has the ParaShock palm pad and the Palm soft padded pigskin in the palm. The GXS57 says it has the ParaShock palm pad and an Ultra soft palm liner. Does the Ultra soft palm liner give better protection than the Palm soft padding or are they basically about the same thing?
The Ultrasoft palm liner in addition to the ParaShock palm pad used on the Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series: GXS57 Catcher's Mitt will provide more padding than the Mizuno Franchise Pro Series: GXS92 Fastpitch Catchers Mitt.
My daughter is 12 but has a larger hand. Would a 34" catcher mitt be better than a 33" one? And will this mitt fit a larger hand? Her current catcher's mitt doesn't cover the heal of her hand and is an Easton Natural Elite Series and is 33" (maybe 32"). She has had it for a year and a half.
Mizuno mitts are known to fit just a little bigger than Easton. A 34" mitt is more common among fastpitch players at the High School, Collegiate, and Professional levels. However, if you have a 12 year old who is above average in size, a 34" model would work just fine. Also, it's natural for the bottom portion of a players palm to show when wearing a glove or mitt.
I purchased this glove and my daughters hand totally fit into the glove. She is only 9 so this was surprising to me. Is it suppose to fit that way?
It sounds like the glove fits perfectly. It's always difficult to know how a hand will fit into the glove because every hand is different. If you don't like the way it fits in any way remember that we do offer a 100 day guarantee and will accept it back for an exchange or refund.
My granddaughter is 12 years old and is playing in a very competitive league and now she is catching. She is 5 foot 6 inches tall and is very strong. What size glove would you recommend
I would recommend a 33" fastpitch softball glove.
I'm looking for one glove that will be effective for catching both my son's baseball pitches as well as my daughter's softball pitching. In terms of padding, are most catchers mitts similar if I were to go with a larger fast pitch softball mitt vs. a standard baseball catchers mitt ?
We recommend using a slow pitch softball glove. The pocket will be large enough for a softball. A fastpitch catcher's mitt is designed for a female hand and will be too small for an adult male. A standard baseball catcher's mitt will not have a large enough pocket for a softball. I have a high school daughter who is getting a little too fast to catch with my regular glove. Would this glove fit a male with large hands?
The Mizuno Franchise Pro Series: GXS92 Fastpitch Catchers Mitt is designed for a female's hand. It will have smaller finger stalls and a more narrow wrist opening so that it fits tightly on the hand of a female fastpitch player.
My daughter is 14 years old catching a 12 inch softball. What size glove would you recommend?
Based on her age, the Mizuno Franchise Pro Series: GXS92 Fastpitch Catchers Mitt may be too large at 34.00". We would recommend a 33.00" inch to 33.50" glove. For more sizing information, please visit our Glove Coach at http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
My son is 12 and wants to try out being a left-handed catcher. Will this glove be a good fit for him, or should he get a smaller one? He is 4'11", 85lbs.
The Mizuno Franchise Pro Series is a female fastpitch glove. We recommend 32.50" Mizuno Prospect Series: GXC105 Youth Catcher's Mitt.
My daughter is turning 12 and plays catcher in a fast pitch league. I'm not sure what size glove she needs. Any thoughts?
We recommend a 32.00" to a 32.50" catcher's mitt.
w would like to purchase a right handed throwers mit , but the order section has left handed thrower in that box and I cant change it what is my next move.?
That means we are currently sold out of the Right Hand Thrower. It might take up to three weeks to get our next shipment of Mizuno Fastpitch gloves in.
Does this glove come in black? Or is the brown and white the only color?
The GXS92 is only produced in the brown and white color shown on the website.
What is the difference between the fast pitch catchers mitts,Franchise Pro Series GXS92 and GXS53 MVP?
The GXS53 uses a higher quality leather. It will be more durable than the Mizuno Francise Pro Series, but a little more difficult to break in.
How is the padding with this glove ?
The GXS92 has adequate padding when compared to other models of similar size and quality.
I'm looking to increase the mitt size for an 11 yr old boy. Is there any reason he could not use this mitt? He is currently using a 32.5" youth catchers mitt.
This glove is designed for the female hand and Fastpitch softball. Please check out our selection of Baseball catchers mitts as those will be a better fit for him.
Is this glove avalible for left hand catchers?
We only show what we have in stock. We should be getting more of these soon.
My 13 year needs a new catchers mitt. He will be playing JH ball in the spring. No idea what to buy him. How is size determined?
This particular glove, the GXS92 is a female fastpitch softball glove. Generally speaking, high school age guys use between a 32inch catcher's mitt to a 33.50 depending on the size and preference of the catcher. Our phone reps are incredible at guiding you to a glove that is what your player needs. They can ask you questions to determine which one would be best for him. Just give us a call 1-866-321-4568.
I'm a 15 year old catcher that is looking for a nice mit, I catch in the spring and summertime and practice 2 times a week in the winter so I need something that will last. I am left handed and am looking for something that loosens up nicely and will work nice for a varsity glove, any suggestions?
This will be an easy glove to break in, but it will not be as durable as some other Mizuno's because of the quality of leather. I suggest the GXS31 Fastpitch Catchers Mitt for better durablity and quality.
My daughter is almost 13 and has been using a 32 in baseball catchers glove for softball. We want to switch her to a softball cathers mitt but are unsure if a 33 or 34 would be better. What do you think?
This is a great link that we have that helps pick out the best glove and the best size for someone to use; http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Hi - I have an 11 year old daughter with Small hands. Would you recommend this glove or do you have an alternate?
I would recommend an 32.00 or 32.50 inch catchers mitt for an 11 year old. I think that a 34 inch glove would be to big for her.
