Not much break-in is needed with the Mayhem series, but these patterns will maintain their shape and allow players to adjust the pocket to his/her own personal preference. Mayhem gloves feature Worth's top-of-the-line Silencer palm pad that absorbs ball impact and prevents sting, allowing players to have the most confidence possible in the field. With an adjustable wrist strap, the Mayhem series ensures a snug, custom fit that won't slip off your hand. Grab one of these new softball gloves from Worth, and start creating Mayhem in the field! Pros: -Easy to break in -Great outfield glove -Webbing is very strong -Easy to clean off grass stains This glove is the first glove I've boughten in 13 years. I am 22 now and had had a SSK over that time which I refused to upgrade from or give up on. After it finally broke and spending almost four days looking I found this glove. It was fairly cheap and I must say that it was perhaps my best perchase and I'm glad that I purchased this, and am pleased with it on the field.

Cons: ABSOLUTELY NONE

You will love this glove!

Pros: The Worth Mayhem MH130 was game-time ready right out of the box, but after a couple of weeks of use performs even better than expected. Replacing a lost DeMarini Diablo, which I loved, but have to admit it won't be missed now that I have the MH130.

Pros: Easy break-in (about 5 pre-game warm-up). Excellent palm protection and good quality for the price. Plays a bit bigger than my 13-inch Rawlings glove. A little snug now, but this is probably a good thing since gloves have a way of growing a bit after play.

Cons: None.

Pros: Glove comes extremely loose and game ready. Extremely lightweight (which can also be a con depending on your preferences).

Cons: The construction is extremely flimsy near the top of the pinky and ring finger, so if you happen to go after a screamer and not hit the pocket, the ball can overpower and bend the glove away rather than corral the ball into the pocket. Same goes for the thumb, its really weak just above your finger tip and will bend away. I had purchased a SSK for $50 that I swear could have sold for $200 easily, so maybe I was pressing my luck with this glove at this price. I would recommend it for little league out fielders and girls softball.

Pros: Honestly one of the feel of this glove is the best that i've owned. Breaks in fast. Fit's a little tight at first but loosens up pretty quickly.

Cons: Quality is not the best. I pitch and after a few line drives back at me, the glove is ripping.

Sean
Would this glove be appropriate for an outfielder in baseball and is there a reason it is designated a softball glove? jodan
Softball gloves have a bigger pocket designed for softballs. There is no reason you can't use a softball glove for baseball.
KB
Does this glove feel "light" to handle....or kind of heavy. Can pinky and ring finger fit in last finger slot? Is it easy to break in have a glove now two years not ready. Back of glove can you tighten to keep on hand easily. Boep
The Worth Mayhem Softball Series: MH130 has slightly below average weight compared to other models of similar quality. The pinky slot is not designed to fit two fingers, but if you have below average size hands, you should be able to fit them in there. This glove has a Velcro strap on the wrist that allows you to tighten it accordingly.
Tyler
Can this glove be used for fastpitch club ball? Ronald
Yes. Generally, the difference between fastpitch and slowpitch gloves is that fastpitch gloves have a smaller hand opening for a female player.
Damon
Even though it says slowpitch softball glove, can I still use it for fast pitch softball? I am an outfield high school player. thestar
Yes, you can definitely use the Worth Mayhem Softball Series: MH130 glove for Fast Pitch Outfield use. The only problem you may run into is the wrist opening or finger stalls may feel big. This glove will provide an Adjustable Velcro Wrist Strap that may assist you in that area. This glove does have a Deep Pocket, Modified T-Web, and a Silencer Palm Pad. It would also break-in very easily.
Brandon
Is this glove suitable for an advanced male senior slow pitch player? jack
Yes, the Worth Mayhem Softball Series: MH130 is a great glove for a senior softball player playing at a high level.

About the Brand

Worth, Inc. can trace its beginning back to the year 1912, when George Sharp Lannom, Jr. purchased a tannery in Tullahoma, Tennessee and established the Lannom Manufacturing Company. Initially, the firm tanned leather for harnesses and horse collars they manufactured. However, as the automobile grew in popularity, the demand for the company's harnesses and collars declined, so Lannom shifted its manufacturing resources toward production of leather covered baseballs and softballs under the "Worth" brand, and men's leather dress gloves under the "Craig" brand.

Charles (Chuck) E. Parish joined Lannom in 1930 as a salesman and married G.S. Lannom, Jr.'s daughter, Martha Lannom several years later. Following Mr. Lannom's death, Parish acquired controlling interest in the company, which led to a division of company assets between himself and Lannom's son G.S. Lannom III. Lannom maintained the glove works while Parish, "The Baron of Baseballs," built the Lannom baseball business into the world's largest manufacturer of baseballs.

Upon graduation from Vanderbilt University in 1959, Chuck Parish's son, John, joined the Lannom organization. He persuaded his father to expand the company's Caribbean operations and enter the baseball bat business in 1970. In 1975, following the death of his father, John Parish took over the reigns of the company. Under his leadership, the company diversified and expanded its production line and developed the personnel, technical know-how, and physical facilities to become one of the largest and most financially sound manufacturers in the entire sporting goods industry.

The WorthSports Company was formally organized in 1975 as the sales and marketing arm for all sporting goods products and divisions of Lannom. In addition to the normal marketing functions, Worth also emphasizes and provides new product research and development. In fact, the emphasis placed on this development is largely responsible for Worth's leadership role in the sporting goods industry.

When Worth entered the bat business all bats were made from Northern White Ash. Worth then established wood mills in Pennsylvania and New York to provide the strong but relatively lightweight ash wood stock. Then directions were shifted to aluminum and other composites and in 1968 Lannom Manufacturing produced its first aluminum bat. The company's Jess Heald was primarily responsible for its development. The sale of aluminum bats to amateur baseball and softball players mushroomed in the 70's, helping Lannom achieve record results. In 1994, because of market demands, more emphasis was placed on the aluminum division and an expansion was completed in Tullahoma.

One of the first and most significant results of the R&D program was the development of the Polyurethane (Poly-X™) core for baseballs and softballs. This one innovation revolutionized the entire softball world; up to this time, the traditional softball core was constructed of cork and latex. Worth, through the use of "petrochemical" formulation, created a softball that was more consistent in performance and demonstrated extended durability, thereby setting the stage for the establishment of formal specifications and standards for the industry. More recently, the expanded research and development team has made another revolutionary addition to the aluminum bats called the SuperCell EST (Exterior Shell Technology) Bat.

One product Worth is very proud of is its RIF (Reduced Injury Factor) baseballs and softballs. Introduced in baseballs in the late '80's, the RIF design features a polyurethane center that makes the ball softer than the traditional yarn wound ball, while keeping the weight, size and liveliness. The balls are used mainly in youth leagues, where safety is of major concern. The technology is now being used in Worth softballs as well. New technology is constantly being developed to revolutionize the softball industry as we know it today.

In 2007, Worth was acquired by Jarden Corporation and is now a division of Rawlings and Jarden Team Sports.
