Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series: A20RB16MC24GM First Base Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Will the transition be long? I'm using a 13 inch. Will it be harder to scoop? The_Great
You'll have less catching surface on the Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series: A20RB16MC24GM First Base Mitt compared to the glove you are using now because it has a 12.00 Inch pattern. There will be a transition period but it is definitely doable.
John
I'm looking for a larger 14 or 15 inch first base mitt for adult slow pitch. It is an 11 inch ball. What are your recommendations? Les
We do not have any first base mitts that would run that large. The biggest we have is the 13.5 inch 2016 Easton Salvo Series Slow Pitch Softball Glove (SVSM3). The Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series (A20RB16MC24GM) is a 12 inch pattern.

I am in 8th grade and looking for a first base glove. (1) Will the glove be able to hold up for 4+ years? (2) Will the glove fit my hand as a 14 year old? tobias
(1) Although I would not be able to guarantee durability, I would say that if this glove was cared for properly, then there is a shot that it could last all 4 years of your high school career. (2) The fit of this Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series (A20RB16MC24GM First Base Mitt) may be a little large when starting out as a 14 year old, but it will definitely be a model that you will grow into quickly with time.
Ben
I am a sophomore in high school, 6'4" and 215 lbs. I have noticed a lot of players are using these smaller gloves. Would you recommend this glove or a standard 12.5" model? AJ
The length on a first base mitt will all be dependent upon the specifications of an individual player. A lot of guys are thinking they can be a little quicker in exchanges [from glove to hand] and also be more precise fielding the ball with a smaller 12.00" mitt like this Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series (A20RB16MC24GM First Base Mitt). However, if you are doing well with a lengthier mitt right now, I would recommend staying with that length. But if you think a 12.00" mitt will help, definitely consider this Cabrera model of glove.
Ben
My son is almost 13 going in to the 7th grade. Would this be a good glove that he could grow in to? I'm not sure he wants a smaller glove. He prefers the standard but 12.5 might be way too big for now? Tatt
The Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series (A20RB16MC24GM) First Base Mitt is a great option. The sizing of all adult gloves are going to be similar on the fit and he would be able to use this mitt for many years.
Carter
If I used to use a Rawlings Renegade 12.5 inch will this glove still feel good although it is a bit shorter? Ethan yanks
The Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series: A20RB16MC24GM First Base Mitt is a great option to consider in a 12.00 inch model. Although shorter that what you have used in the past this 1B mitt from Wilson is a highly constructed glove and should hold up well over multiple years of usage.
Cameron
Would this glove be too large for an 8 year old? Anthony
Generally speaking, an 8 year old player will use a glove in the 11.50" size range. However, if your player has large hands or is looking for something to grow into, the Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series: A20RB16MC24GM First Base Mitt would be a great option.
Tyler
I do 2 in the pinkie. Would that still work if i wanted to do finger out or will that be uncomfortable knowing that there is a closed back with one hole? connie
The Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series: A20RB16MC24GM First Base Mitt is intended to be used with one finger out, so the alignment of your hand with two (2) in the pinkie might be tough to do so comfortably. You may check out something like the 2017 Wilson A2000 Super Skin 12" Fastpitch First Base Mitt: WTA20RF17BM12SS which utilizes a conventional open back while still being a 12" model.
Tyler
I've never had a closed back with a first base mitt. Should i change to one or stay with a open back? greg
The design of the back of the mitt will come down to player preference. The Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series: A20RB16MC24GM First Base Mitt will offer you that closed back design, which can be beneficial for keeping your glove clean because there is less access for dirt to get into your finger stalls.
Tyler
Can this be used to play fastpitch softball? Henry
The Wilson Miguel Cabrera A2000 Series: A20RB16MC24GM First Base Mitt is constructed for use in baseball with the size of the pocket and the fit of the mitt. However, if you were able to make both of those work, you could use it in fastpitch softball play.
