How heavy is this mitt in comparison to the old full size A2000 first base mitt? My 12 year old son has out grown his Rawlings Renegade 11.5", but my personal A2000 is still too heavy for him to handle. Do you have any suggestions for us to try? Bill

The finger stalls on the Wilson Game Ready Softfit Series: A0800BBBM12 First Base Mitt and the Wilson A2000 will be similar because they will both fit true to size. The Wilson Game Ready Softfit Series will break in faster, but the leather won't be as durable as the A2000.

My 8 yr old plays first base with an 11.5 inch fielders glove. Beginning to think he need a little more glove for stretches and scoops. Does an 11.5 first base mitt play longer/bigger than an 11.5 fielder glove? Was thinking of bumping up to 12 inch when i converted him to a 1b mitt. thoughts? grapevine
