Description

Makes sure your future All-Star has the tools to best develop their skills on the diamond and check out the Wilson A500 Series. This line offers the lightest weight in the Youth glove market for an all-leather ball glove which stems from its Top Grain Leather Shell. This material not only improves a player's ability to control the glove in the field, but it reduces the break-in period to the point of creating a Game Ready feel - right out of the box. Although this glove is softer from the start, its Dual Welting and Double Palm Construction guarantee that the glove will hold its structure and provide more durability than similarly-priced Youth gloves.

This Wilson A500 Series: A05RB16115 features an 11.50 Inch Pattern, I-Web (Wilson H-Web), and is based on the A2000 1787 pattern. You can pick up your own today with Fast, Free Shipping and a 100 Day Money-Back Guarantee at JustBallGloves.com!

Pros: flexible enough for young players to be able to close the glove and field there ball right out of the box. Excellent choice for years 5-9.

Cons: Looses it form a little after 6 months of heavy play but at this cost easily replaceable. After your player hits about 9 or 10 in all stars the other 9 and 10 year old are throwing hard right at you and it does not have enough padding (stings).

I'm trying to find a glove that will be a good fit for my 8 year old and not be too heavy. He's a small kid. Do you think this mitt would work? Jake
The Wilson A500 Series: A05RB16115 is a lightweight glove in a 11.50 inch pattern. Based on the player's age, you may want to consider looking for a slightly smaller glove in either a 11.00 or 11.25 inch pattern.

My son used this when he was 5-9 years old. My son is 11 years old now. I bought a Wilson A2000 and it is so stiff. He plays SS, 1st, 2nd and outfield. What would be a good glove to get after using this A500? Should I get an adult glove for him (looking at Rawlings or Wilson)? Denise
At 11 years old, I would probably recommend a model within the A1K line from Wilson. The A1K line is built to fit players that need gloves featuring an intermediate fit. I would recommend an 11.50 length glove (to meet the needs of his position) and the specific glove to look at in the A1K line is the following: Wilson A1K Pro Staff Series Baseball Glove (A1K0SA4DP15). That glove has an 11.5" length to it and a fitting that will be ideal for your player.
Ben
What size does this glove come in? BlessedJosh
This Wilson A500 Series (A05RB16115) comes in an 11.5" length and a snug youth fitting.

What is the difference between Wilson's A450, A500 and A550 models? Is one model of better quality than the others? Grant
The Wilson A500 Series: A05RB16115 and the Wilson A550 series gloves will be very similar in design and construction and would be the higher quality lineup of gloves when compared to those of the A450 Series. The main difference between the A500 and the A550 series will be the more snug fit with the A550 as well as the reduction of heel padding to allow for an easier close. The A450 Series is constructed from pigskin leather (the other two models are constructed from top grain leather) and does not feature the double palm construction - this helps prevent premature wearing of the leather in the palm.
Cameron
Is this a 15" glove? Coach
This Wilson A500 Series (A05RB16115) will be 11.5" in length and, therefore, not be a 15" glove.
Ben
What age bracket is this glove? danny
The Wilson A500 Series: A05RB16115 is designed for a youth player, ages 10-12.
Cameron
How do the finger stalls in the A500 compare to the Shoeless Joe (1150IW)? Brandon
The finger stalls in this Wilson A500 Series (A05RB16115) will be much skinnier in comparison to the finger stalls you would have in the Shoeless Joe (1150IW). The A500 is made for youth players while the Shoeless Joe (1150IW) is made for adults. That is why the finger stall size will be different.
