Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2K Series C.J. Wilson Model: A2K0BB4CJW? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

This glove is listed as a pitcher/outfield glove. Does that mean it is kind of mediocre as an outfield glove and mediocre as a pitchers glove? My son pitches and plays outfield and we were wondering if it would be better to get a pitchers glove and another glove specifically for the outfield. He is a left hand thrower so this second glove would also be used as a spare glove if one would break during a game. Not too many left handed throwers on most teams to borrow from a teammate. Besides this A2K0BB4CJW, we were looking at the A2K0BB4KP92. Having just one glove for both positions would be great, for the main reason of cost, however performance is also important. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. rtn
A 12.00" glove such as the Wilson A2K Series C.J. Wilson Model: A2K0BB4CJW is recommended for a utility player. It is small enough for a pitcher, but big enough for an outfielder as well. The A2K series are Wilson's highest quality glove. It will be very durable and the Wilson A2K Series is excellent for a utility player.

Why would this glove be preferred over the A2000 C.J. Wilson model? Billy
The Wilson A2K Series C.J. Wilson Model (A2K0BB4CJW) features Wilson's top of the line Pro Stock Select Leather and Rolled Dual-Welting for a quicker break-in as compared to the A2000 model that has a slight downgrade in leather quality.
Tom
Can this glove be used for infield as well? jhonny baseball plsyer
The Wilson A2K Series C.J. Wilson Model (A2K0BB4CJW) is technically a pitcher and outfield model in a 12.00 inch pattern. It might be a little too large for a middle-infielder to use, as it could be fairly difficult to get the ball out of a deeper pocket rapidly. Some other models that would perform a little better for infield usage, you could definitely take a look at the Wilson A2K Series (A2KRB15DP15GM) or the Wilson A2000 Baseball Glove (A20RB15DP15GM).

After looking into this, only the Wilson A2000 gloves come with a leather tag. The Wilson A2K gloves do not.

My son is a bigger 12 year old who plays outfield and pitches. Would this be a good utility glove for him? This glove is also very similar to the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series A20RB15CJWSS. What are the differences if any? Vic
The Wilson A2K Series C.J. Wilson Model (A2K0BB4CJW) would be a nice option for a utility player as would the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A20RB15CJWSS). The SuperSkin model will be a bit lighter while the A2K will be a bit stiffer out of the package but have a bit better durability over time.
