Description

Right when you thought the A2K couldn't get any better, Wilson has outdone themselves again. The new series of A2K gloves are some of the highest quality ball gloves ever produced. Using only the top 5% of their natural Pro Stock leather ensures that only the most perfect hides become an A2K. Ball players typically say the two most important features in a glove are softness and durability. That is why with the A2K series, Wilson's craftsmen spent 3x longer shaping, pounding and stretching this glove than any other glove they produce. The result is a natural softness that doesn't come from chemicals or substandard materials, but rather from time and care. This creates a glove that is softer off the shelf and takes less time to hold your custom break-in. These gloves feature Dual-Welting on the fingers which creates a pre-curved finger design resulting in a more durable and stable pocket. The new A2K design also features Wilson's Dri-Lex ultra-breathable wrist lining which transfers moisture from the skin, keeping your hand cool, dry and comfortable. Wilson truly has crafted a glove that is absolutely flawless in every aspect. Wilson: The Official Ball Glove of Major League Baseball. Free Shipping!

Pros: This glove is great, I got it for Christmas and I've used it around 10-15 just playing some catch. It's practically all broken in and it shapes amazing! It smacks great when I catch balls and its quite soft.

Cons: None

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2K Series: A2K0BB41787? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this glove better than the 11.25" A2K for middle infield? Scott
The Wilson A2K Series: A2K0BB41787 will be the same quality glove no matter if it is this 11.75" size, or the 11.25" size. I do see more middle infielder's using an 11.50".
Brandon
Is an 11.75" glove too large for 2nd base? Nick
Yes, 11.75" is a size normally preferred by 3rd basemen. Typically, 2nd basemen prefer to use 11.25"-11.5" gloves.

Which A2K infield gloves have a palm pad? the man of i
The A2K series features 2X palm construction which helps with pocket stability and palm padding.
Justin R.
Would this be too mature of a glove for a 14 year old? Spadz26
This Wilson A2K features an 11.75" design which is the preferred size of 3rd basemen. This glove would be well suited for a 14 year old 3rd baseman.
Justin R.
Would you recommend this glove or the Wilson A2K 1788 for second base? Rob
The 11.75" pattern size of the Wilson A2K Series: A2K0BB41787 is typically what a third baseman would use. For middle infield, we usually recommend a 1786 (11.50"), but the 11.25" pattern size of the 1788 is a great choice also. From what I've seen, shortstops usually do not go with the 11.25", but it is more common with second basemen. Both are very high quality gloves, so it really comes down to the pattern size you are most comfortable with.

Would you prefer this glove or the DW5 A2K for third base? adam
The Wilson A2K Series: A2K0BB41787 and the Wilson A2K Series David Wright Model: A2K0BB4DW5GM are ideal for 3rd base. I personally like the I-web design of the 11.75" model. If you prefer a slightly larger glove and the dual post pattern, I would recommend the DW5.
Justin R.
I'm 11 years old. I'm really interested in this glove. I play 3rd base and I want something I could use for years and years. Would you recommend this? cole
The Wilson A2K Series: A2K0BB41787 will be the perfect size for the hot corner at 11.75". The glove would definitely last you many seasons. The A2K Series is Wilson's top of the line glove series. It comes highly recommended.
Brandon
My son pitches and plays 3rd. Would this be a good glove for both positions? Ren
The Wilson A2K Series: A2K0BB41787 has a 11.75" pattern, which would be ideal for 3rd base. This length of glove would also be able to serve as a good pitching glove as well.
Justin R.
Because its a softer glove than the A2000, does that mean it will loose its firmness faster than the A2000? Jack
The Wilson A2K Series (A2K0BB41787) uses a slightly higher quality of leather than the A2000. With proper care, the A2K will be just as durable, if not more so than the A2000.
Kara
Would this glove be ideal for a pitcher/all around infielder? Kai
The Wilson A2K Series (A2K0BB41787) would be a great glove for any infielder who loves the 11.75" size. The glove will have an I-Web, some pitchers prefer a closed web. The A2K is one of the best glove lines on the market today!
Brandon
Is this glove really stiff? I love my A2K1786 2014 model. Will this glove come super stiff and tight? Jacob Tiu
The Wilson A2K Series: (A2K0BB41787) will be very stiff. The pro stock leather will be extremely tight and will require a break in. This leather will also be very long lasting, and high performing.
Merritt
What are the best gloves for a shortstop right now? Kyle
The Wilson A2K Series: (A2K0BB41787) is going to be a very high end infield model and will incorporate Pro Stock Select Leather making it top of the line. The Rawlings Primo Series: (PRM1179) will also be a very high end model to take a look at. It will have European Full-Grain Leather and Italian Calf Lining to help enhance the feel. The wool padding and embroidery will also make this glove a great choice to take a look at.
Merritt
Why is this discontinued? nick
Wilson did not share with us the reason they decided to discontinue that specific model. The Wilson A2K Series (A2K0BB41787) is still a great design and a high quality glove, they may have just decided to stop making that specific design.
